The Rheem ECO160XLP3-1 Outdoor Liquid Propane Tankless Water Heater can provide up to 7.0 GPM at a 35 temperature rise. The 160,000 BTU Liquid Propane Tankless Water Heater is designed to supply continuous hot water for up to 1 to 2 bathrooms at the same time. It heats water only when it's needed and has a 0.81 uniform energy factor. This compact heater exceeds the requirements for many utility rebate programs. It comes with a remote digital thermostat that can be installed in almost any convenient area of the house. This model can be used at elevations up to 9,800 ft. above sea level. Answersno this unit works off of city water pressure. you could hook up an external circulation system or just turn your plumbing system into a loop so it regulates the pressure and you have no temperature drop off

AnswersIt depends on far away your shower is from the water heater. I find it takes about 15-18 seconds for hot water to make it to the shower head. For me there is probably about 15 feet of pipe between the water heater and the shower head.

This tankless water heater not good for all buyers. Doesn’t work if you have shared vent in middle of the house, our vent located in the middle, our central heat in the garage up to the roof passing first and second floor. Our previous tank water heater on the first floor connected to the vent in the middle.
When we hocked the tankless vent didn’t work, no matter what we did we got error 11, first we thought the gas source small 5/8 , we replaced with bigger ¾ same error 11.
Finally after we spent a lot time and money we figured out the vent issue, after we removed 90 degree connected, worked, but that is not possible, if we keep it that way will kill all of us with carbon monoxide also violating the city code.
So please think twice before you buy it. One more thing, you really not going to save money on gas, in fact you will use more gas and electric, and loud , we tried it for one day (with vent pipe off) to see if worth to make it work, but not, just not worth the hassle .
Sure works if install in wall and vent goes directly outside.
Hope home depot will return it, we spent twice of the purchase price, and they know you will spend a lot to make it work.

Great so far-still new
Just got this in 3 days ago, the install went easy, instructions are good. Unit is very quiet, I was concerned a bit because I was hanging it outside my daughters room (outside model) and thought it might be loud, but its super quiet. Water temp is spot on when I measured the temp in the house, heats up pretty quick. I do get a P1 error when turning the shower water down to a dribble (washing the dog) which means the pressure is too low (SOLUTION: TURN UP WATER VOLUME AT FAUCET). I have a small house and getting rid of my tank water heater for this outside smaller unit is GREAT. Also, its made in Japan, so I assume its gonna be quality.

Shipping was delayed by one day because of current events. No problem. Unless you don't have hot water LOL. It arrived intact. I installed this in about 5 hours. It works perfectly. I actually replaced the same Rheem model installed over 10 years ago. It worked trouble free for over ten years until it gave trouble. It was more cost effective to replace than to attempt repair because of its construction.
No regrets, highly recommended.

Replaced a Rinnai Integrity model that was at least 11 years old. It had been serviced and still couldn't keep up with the simplest of hot water demands. Went with Rheem 8.4gpm unit as Rheem is supposed to do better at altitude (8,600ft in CO) and it keeps up with a shower and laundry and a sink running at the same time. It suits or small household well. Easy enough install since everything was nearby from the previous unit, just had to line up the new exhaust to the wall and work from there. Would have gone to the bigger gpm model if we had a 3rd bath.

SO I BOUGHT IT ON HOME DEPOT ONLINE AND THE VENT PIPING IN A LOCAL LCR STORE . HIM AND I INSTALLED ON MY ATTIC I TELL WHAT ITS WORKING FANTASTIC BEFORE MY LITTLE GIRL FILLED THE TUB AND I GO SHOWER AFTER NO HOT WATER I HAVE TO WAIT 30 MIN NOW WE HAVE CONSTANTLY HOT WATER. THIS IS AWESOME AS YOU CAN SEE THOSE PIC THE I TOOK I WASNT FINISH 100% BUT IS WORKING GREAT WHEN I TURN ON THE SHOWER IT TAKE 25 SECOND TO GET HOT AND THE KITCHEN AREA IS LITTLE FAR WAY IT TAKE 50 SECOND TO GET HOT WATER AFTER THAT HOT WATER CONSTANTLY RHEEN IS GREAT BRAND.

Easy install?
I was hesitant to purchase a tankless water after reading many reviews and cost of installation. My home was built in 1957 so it had galvanized piping throught out. This included the water being IN the house across from the bathroom, unbelievable. Is this item a straight forward install? No, not at all. After about $2500 in all new PEX plumbing and a new main line from the street, moving the water heater outside was worth all the time and hassel. I should have been a plumber. Ugh. Anyway, Rheem makes a great product and have been making water heaters for years. I recommend reseaching whats going to be the best for your needs. My second choice was going to be the PVC venting Rheem. That one had the easiest venting around. If you’re going to have it installed, call many people for quotes. Ask to see install pictures and if they are really good installers, they should have them. Who doesnt take pictures of their handy work?? Everyone has phones, lets be real about it. Also, not every install will be straight forward. Be prepared for things to come up that werent quoted in the initial bid, especially with plumbing. YouTube it.

Bought this unit to replace an older model Rheem tankless water heater that was over 15 years old. Paid $500 for a local plumber to install, and it came out great. If you don't want to install yourself, pay for a local plumber to do the install, because I looked nto the Home Depot professional install service that they offer, and they told me that they start at over $3000 even for just a simple swap out.
This water heater is great, I love how quiet it is, and it kicks on at a much lower water flow rate than our old one. Before, we had to wait for the toilet to stop running for the water pressure in the house to build back up before the water heater would sense enough pressure to kick on so we could wash our hands. Thankfully not the case anymore with this one. Now, even turning the sink on to just a trickle, the water heater will still kick on. This unit comes with everything you need, (valves, power cables, etc.) besides the concentric vent kit sold separately. This vent kit can get pricey if you need to run it all throughout your house. We only needed the smallest kit they sell, which is the 90 degree bend and the outside vent itself, so we paid $90 so not really a huge deal. Love endless hot water! I'm hoping this one will last as long as our old one!

Quality from over protected shipping box. Down to ease of install and operation. Make sure to pre order stainless 3/5 exhaust heat exchanger ducting. Purpose built exhaust required. Have to order before install. My local home Depot doesn't carry exhaust in store. Once installed works perfectly .
