This tankless water heater not good for all buyers. Doesn’t work if you have shared vent in middle of the house, our vent located in the middle, our central heat in the garage up to the roof passing first and second floor. Our previous tank water heater on the first floor connected to the vent in the middle. When we hocked the tankless vent didn’t work, no matter what we did we got error 11, first we thought the gas source small 5/8 , we replaced with bigger ¾ same error 11. Finally after we spent a lot time and money we figured out the vent issue, after we removed 90 degree connected, worked, but that is not possible, if we keep it that way will kill all of us with carbon monoxide also violating the city code. So please think twice before you buy it. One more thing, you really not going to save money on gas, in fact you will use more gas and electric, and loud , we tried it for one day (with vent pipe off) to see if worth to make it work, but not, just not worth the hassle . Sure works if install in wall and vent goes directly outside. Hope home depot will return it, we spent twice of the purchase price, and they know you will spend a lot to make it work.

Just got this in 3 days ago, the install went easy, instructions are good. Unit is very quiet, I was concerned a bit because I was hanging it outside my daughters room (outside model) and thought it might be loud, but its super quiet. Water temp is spot on when I measured the temp in the house, heats up pretty quick. I do get a P1 error when turning the shower water down to a dribble (washing the dog) which means the pressure is too low (SOLUTION: TURN UP WATER VOLUME AT FAUCET). I have a small house and getting rid of my tank water heater for this outside smaller unit is GREAT. Also, its made in Japan, so I assume its gonna be quality.

Replaced a Rinnai Integrity model that was at least 11 years old. It had been serviced and still couldn't keep up with the simplest of hot water demands. Went with Rheem 8.4gpm unit as Rheem is supposed to do better at altitude (8,600ft in CO) and it keeps up with a shower and laundry and a sink running at the same time. It suits or small household well. Easy enough install since everything was nearby from the previous unit, just had to line up the new exhaust to the wall and work from there. Would have gone to the bigger gpm model if we had a 3rd bath.

I was hesitant to purchase a tankless water after reading many reviews and cost of installation. My home was built in 1957 so it had galvanized piping throught out. This included the water being IN the house across from the bathroom, unbelievable. Is this item a straight forward install? No, not at all. After about $2500 in all new PEX plumbing and a new main line from the street, moving the water heater outside was worth all the time and hassel. I should have been a plumber. Ugh. Anyway, Rheem makes a great product and have been making water heaters for years. I recommend reseaching whats going to be the best for your needs. My second choice was going to be the PVC venting Rheem. That one had the easiest venting around. If you’re going to have it installed, call many people for quotes. Ask to see install pictures and if they are really good installers, they should have them. Who doesnt take pictures of their handy work?? Everyone has phones, lets be real about it. Also, not every install will be straight forward. Be prepared for things to come up that werent quoted in the initial bid, especially with plumbing. YouTube it.

Quality from over protected shipping box. Down to ease of install and operation. Make sure to pre order stainless 3/5 exhaust heat exchanger ducting. Purpose built exhaust required. Have to order before install. My local home Depot doesn't carry exhaust in store. Once installed works perfectly .

My husband is a pipefitter and so he installed the Tankless Water Heater himself. We had to buy an additional $600 dollars of the 3x5 vent pipe to reroute across the basement . The old unit was vented into the chimney which is a no no for this unit. Except for that, the price was comparable to our old 75 gallon tank water heater but we are looking forward to the expected savings on our gas bill. We do wish they would have these units in stock at our local Home depot. Do have it professionally installed. We think this was a good investment and have had no shortage of hot water for the 7 people in our house. We have 2 laundry rooms 3 bathrooms and we are always doing dishes with no shortage of hot water.

This heater was reasonably easy to install, runs quietly and looks great. Though this unit comes with an internal recirculating pump controller, I elected to combined an ultra-efficient recirculating pump with an app controlled Wi-Fi switch/countdown timer instead. This allows me to turn on the recirculating pump using an app on my phone from anywhere in the house. When the programmed time has elapsed, the pump turns off automatically so that I do not have to remember to switch it off. One added advantage to using a recirculating pump with this unit is that it allows my family to use a smaller flow of hot water without the heater shutting off because the recirculating pump is boosting the water flow through the heater unit. All in all, this tankless heater was a perfect choice for my family's needs, supplying ample flow for a household of 3 to 4 persons.

I have had this water heater for two months now and it is great. My house has three bathrooms with showers. It provides hot water to all three with no drop in temperature or water pressure. This unit replaced a tanked water heater that began to leak. It is in a very small closet attached to the back of the house. Installation went smoothly because I had researched the valves and venting to use. The unit says it needs a 3/4 inch gas line. I am using a 1/2 line without any issues. It runs fine even with the gas dryer and central heat running. It seems the gas pressure in my house is higher than typical. I planned to run a 3/4 inch flex home run from near the gas meter if the 1/2 pipe was inadequate. Be aware that you must use their vent pipe. It is not standard type B vent. The gap between the inner and outer pipe is greater than Type B vent. The outer pipe draws in air for combustion. The inner pipe vents flue gasses. Because the combustion air comes from the out vent pipe, you do not need a vent in your water heater closet door. I used the vertical vent option because the water heater closet already had a hole in the roof for it. It has a horizontal option too I enabled the water saver mode. This entailed taking off the outer panel and flipping a small dip switch. It is supposed to minimize water flow until the set temperature is reached. I did not notice a difference with this enabled.

Our family has wanted a tankless water heater for a while and after discussing our needs with the Home Depot-recommended installer/plumber, we decided to purchase this model, and after using it for nearly two months, we couldn't be happier. Other than not running out of hot water, the feature I like most is the ability to change the water temperature with the indoor wired remote control.

After five years and a lot of hot water. Had to replace my rheem tankless water heater.Was able to order a rheem tankless water heater direct replacement online from Home depot. Shipped to house within two days. Rheem sent me a check north of three quarters of what I paided. Totally exceeded expectations. Very Happy.
