Wired Doorbell 2K with Chime

Hi Chime. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The Wired Doorbell 2K does not work with an existing in-home chime. During installation, the existing chime needs to be bypassed. To do this, turn off power at the breaker, open the chime box, disconnect the wires from the Front and Trans terminals, and connect those two wires together using the included wire nut. If your home has more than one chime, each additional chime will also need to be bypassed the same way. To hear alerts inside your home, a plug-in Ring Chime is needed. It plugs into any standard wall outlet and connects to your doorbell through the Ring app in about 2 minutes. The Ring Chime can play audio alerts when motion is detected on your Ring device or when someone presses your Ring doorbell.
