Replaced a 7 year old Ecotemp. The Rinnai is much more responsive when demanding hot water. Unit is set at factory to 120 degrees. If you want up to 140 degrees its just a flip of a DP switch inside the panel.
Lost a small part while crawling around under my deck. Called Rinnai and CS answered on the second ring. CS is in GA and they also built a mfg plant there in 2018. Found the part number and told me where to source it. Great CS, friendly and knowledgeable.
The Ecotemp was always touchy when blending hot and cold. If you backed off of the hot too much it would shut off and give you all cold. The Rinnai does not do this and allows much much more hot/cold blending range.
So far, very happy with the Rinnai.

Works well however disappointed with warranty.
Purchased and had installed by plumber to replace regular hot water heater in Oct22. Circuit board for remote display didn't work. Plumber ordered replacement board covered by warranty however Rinnai did not cover the $150 cost of labor to replace the board on the brand new unit. Works well so far.

Second Rinnai

Pleased
This was the third water heater we have had in a relatively short period of time. The prior two could not withstand winter temperatures, apparently. The Rinnai made it through a colder winter than we have had for awhile and we are pleased with it’s performance.
