How many faucets can this unit handle.

Asked by Leo June 15, 2021

Answer

This depends on the GPMs of the faucets but with the typical GPMs this should supply 2-3 faucets. --Tashay

Model V vs RL. What is the difference?

Asked by TxGigi October 20, 2020

Answers

That answer above appears incorrect. From the specs, the two are the exact same unit. One is white. The other is stainless (RL). The RL has a few more certifications and has 12 year warranty vs a 10 year. After this winter storm, I'll take whatever is first available, but if I could wait, it looks like the "V" would be for "Value". :-)

It was fairly easy to install and operate. You can set the water temperature from 98° to 120°. Be advised that this does need a 110v outlet within about 4 feet. I would advise that you buy the optional brass water valve kit with it. It's about $85 and will make the install so much easier. I think if you bought the pieces separately it would be over $85 anyways. I've had it for a little over a week and I'm enjoying that it instantly provides hot water. I think my favorite part of this product is that it's not using any propane unless I am running the hot water. The days of constantly keeping water hot while I'm not even home are over. It says it needs a condensation kit, so I bought one for about $30. Be careful which kit you buy, because the one I got is a complete piece of junk. If there is a better option get that.

It was a little difficult to install and I had to get a professional to help, but this is such a cool (hot) appliance. I was skeptical, but decided it was time to replace my hot water tank and the thought of having unlimited hot water was very appealing, as we were only getting about 5 minutes of hot water out of our old tank system for the past 20 years and then you'd have to wait 30 minutes for the next shower attempt. I've waited about a month before leaving this review. I can shower, the wife can shower, kids can come over and shower, grandkids can shower, neighbors could shower (if we wanted them to) and we'd NEVER run out of hot water (unless we ran out of propane). Originally I thought I would save on propane, but now I sing entire albums in the shower - probably using more propane than I did with the old hot water tank. As far as how long the Rinnai will hold up? I don't have the answer, but right now, I'm very pleased with this unit and I'm off to take another shower!

Loving our Tankless
We replaced an old tankless with a new Rannai. It was easy to install and have answered any questions when we called. We have hot water when we need it and nothing sits when we don't.

So far I've had the unit for about two weeks and had no issues. I think it comes down to the location and quality of the installation. My unit was placed where the old electric water heater resided, and that was against an outside wall. It doesn't make any noise, or at least any that is noticeable. It heats the water within a few seconds, and will maintain it endlessly until I run out of LP. Some planning advise. Pay the extra for a certified installer. Expect to pay around 1K. If you are converting your house to LP, then a stove and a heater will run about 1.2K. That's from a certified installer on the mid-East Coast. Side-note: Both the installer and the LP delivery person had Rinnai units. The installer indicated the Rinnai brand can easily live for more than 10 years. Seems the most popular are outdoor units, but I selected indoor as I'm in a hurricane area and was thinking possible damage. The unit is larger than I thought. A lot of the online pictures don't show the scale. Overall very happy!

Excellent water heater
We decided to try a tankless water heater when our traditional unit stopped working, and chose Rinnai based on the great ratings and advice from a friend who performs installations. It's been installed for about 2 months. We've been thrilled with our purchase! I like that the unit is small and is mounted way up on the wall. Our utility room seems much larger without the big traditional water heater. It's pretty quiet when it's running. It takes a few seconds for the hot water to reach the tap, but we've adjusted to that. Initially the unit couldn't be set higher than 120 degrees F, but I was able to open the cover and flip the switch so I could set it higher. We've never run out of hot water since we installed the unit. I would certainly recommend a Rinnai unit. It's solidly built and a very good value.
