A:  The 2" is an average because not all the stones are not perfectly 2" in diameter. 1) is correct 2) This should be 2 sq ft at 3" thick. 3) Vague, depending on the depth of the rock bed. Is this information on the HD website?

        A:  These are not 2-inch Stones like the description says. Some are 2 in, but there are many that are almost four. See the picture.

          Pretty good for the price. The stone is a bit bigger than previous a different brand of river cobble previously purchased. You do need to wash this in order to get it to look like the photo -- there is a slight coating of clay that makes it all look tan before you wash it. I suppose that clay coating costs a few ounces, but probably less than 1 or two rocks per bag. It looks good in our landscape applications next to the house, some edged by brick, some by landscape timbers.
