Our 30' tape measure (30' x 1") is composed of a steel acrylic coated blade. It has a rugged case and bright colors for easily visibility. The product has a strong spring return and thumb lock with a steel belt clip.

Hard rubber shell is nice because it avoids damage if dropped. Rubber also catches the measuring tape when reeling it back in, avoiding damage too.

Nice tape

I ended up purchasing 5 of these for our office (an architecture and engineering firm). Selected this model because: - tape was inexpensive, but not cheap - tape lock was a slider on the front (not the bottom) - graduations were not ridiculous (do you really need 1/32" precision on a measuring tape!?) - outer case is plastic (so I can burn in the company name into it with a soldering iron) Only con - didn't have it in store, so I had to order on-line (and pickup at the store)...

Better than the Stanley power lock

I have used a lot of tapes as I am a commercial carpenter. Price for value, I recommend it. Small, easy to use, not to heavy and durable. Downside, looks like a dollar store product
