ROBERTS AirGuard Premium Underlayment is ideal for installation of floating laminate and floating engineered hardwood flooring. It is the only underlayment manufactured with both MICROBAN antimicrobial system plus AirFlow Technology to release trapped moisture, defend against mold and mildew growth, and prevent damage to your floors or subfloors. This premium underlayment features 3 layers of defense: A top layer with an impermeable film keeps moisture away from flooring, a middle layer of thousands of polyshims to help absorb ambient sound, cushion your step and level the finished flooring, and a bottom layer that wicks moisture up from concrete or wood subfloors. Featuring a self-sealing lip and tape system, it's easy to roll out, attach, and cut for fast installation. It covers 630 sq. ft. and measures 40 in. wide x 189 ft. long x 2 mm thick.

Works
Got this after reading reviews from the cheapest and expensive ones. I got this to prevent mold and mildew but not sure if this works. The cushion was felt when I stepped on the new flooring vs just hardwood and the footsteps are not obvious so it delivers. The subfloor was prepped to reduce or eliminate the squeaking noise prior to application and the areas that we can’t do anything more was fixed by placing this underlayment.

Used two of these Roberts Airguards for the concrete floor...
Used two of these Roberts Airguards for the concrete floor in my finished basement as placed underneath new Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring installed to replace carpeting when the house was built in 2015. . Lining up and connecting the sticky-taped seaming from section to section was extremely easy to install and work with and, while the plank flooring has padding of its own, this extra seal and protection works well for my basement floor.

We did a small room for my wife (she shed) 12x20. We used this product to place under vinyl floor. Works but were not able to find red color only blue but after calling company I was assured color does not matter. Did not giving 5 stars due to how easy it tears.

This stuff is awesome. I typically use the cheap one and it’s a pain to work with. This ones more money but actually lays flat and you get something for your money, unlike the cheap one. I will always use this in the future

This floor underlay was very nice. It lays down easy and has a flap at one edge to use for overlapping rows without adding anything but minimal thickness. This was so easy to work with while installing. The 2mm thickness was just fine. One must be careful when installing as it can be torn easily if you slip with the hammer or lay any power tools on it. I mainly was attracted to this material over the others because of the 5 in 1 properties. It was not the most expensive nor the least expensive, but somewhere in the middle. For my needs I would certainly use it again. I purchased the larger roll to reduce the overall square ft cost and eliminate the need for multiple rolls of material. The only complaint was that about halfway thru my roll I found it had been spliced by the manufacturer and it was a very messy splice which had to be removed to allow it to work correctly. All in all a great product and worked well for my laminate flooring.

Great product. Easy to work with and the adhesive strip to bond sections together is clutch. However, for two pieces of plastic bonded together with some styrofoam balls in the middle, it’s pricey. Consideridering per roll there’s probably $5 in material.

I found this underlayment to be extremely easy to work with. The directions are clear and concise and the overlapping flap and built-in taped edge made rolling the rows and connecting them to ensure full coverage quick and easy. With the built-in microban "dots" lining the rows up edge-to-edge was also extremely easy. The roll is huge, but lightweight and totally manageable to work with. I purchased this particular brand because I have 3 dogs and wanted an antimicrobial underlayment for my new floor and I'm extremely happy with this product.
