Product Overview

ROBERTS Extendible Floor Roller is ideal to use when installing sheet vinyl, VCT, linoleum, and even wall coverings. It features non-marking, segmented rollers that exert even pressure, ensuring maximum transfer of adhesive to the floorcovering for a finished look that is smooth and level. Its twist-lock handle extends from 17 to 27 in. and is especially handy for reaching under the overhang of a cabinet toe-kick. The handgrip near the rollers uses bodyweight for additional pressure, and provides better control of the smoothing action. Together the twist-lock handle and the handgrip provide maximum leverage.
  • Great to smooth out vinyl floor, VCT, linoleum and carpet
  • 7-3/8 in. wide non-marring segmented rollers provide even pressure on uneven surfaces
  • Twist-lock handle adjusts from 17 to 27 in.
  • Handgrip uses bodyweight for additional pressure and provides better control of the smoothing action
  • Designed with inset axles to prevent wall scuffing

If you look up Sedona Vinyl tile on the home depot website and then select the product you're interested in; among the alternate pictures of the product they're are also videos: in one of the videos, someone is using a extension roller. I would say yes to your question.

Yes, works well on adhesive backed vinyl planked flooring.

Would this be used w/plank laminate over an old tile bathroom floor - about 100 sq ft? Planning on layer of glue over tile

So this is a light soft roller and was great for peel and stick. But in your case, I would rent the heavy glue down roller. Pretty sure Home Depot has them. Do sections at a time to get nice adhesion. Good luck. Pick up a pair of knee pads while there too. You’ll be glad.

Once you've extended the roller handle make sure you twist lock it but good. When I install a sheet of wall protection I use my weight every chance I get, arms alone do not give the pressure needed, and arms tire out if installing all day. If rollering above the shoulders, I fist the handle end into my shoulder and lean into it. if waist high I fist the handle into my hip and put my weight into it. I keep handle into hip and bend my knees and start low then push upward with my weight at my hip. Push bubbles outward. Apply pressure from the roller everywhere on the sheet to ensure vinyl-to-glue and glue-to-wall contact. If you come back the next day and see bubbles, just roller (push) the bubbles out, the glue in that bubble may still be wet enough to stick. Oh I weigh a bit more than you, the question isn't can it hold your weight, the question is how much weight can you apply?

Can this tool be used to effectively install engineered hard wood flooring? I have about 400 sq. Ft. to install.

I did curbside pick up for this product. And when I went to use it I discovered that the handle section was missing. I thought maybe that it had fallen off in my trunk. But that wasn’t the case.
