Hi Heather, There are 2 pieces that are connected to create the adjustment to 156". The first large segment is 84, the second slightly smaller piece is 73". One slides in and out of the other to adjust.

How many hangers on this rod? I need 30-36. Would the next size smaller work for me?

Great traverse rod! It works perfectly and looks great. Very easy to remove hanging clips and change from a 2-way draw to a 1-way draw. The only improvement that could be made to earn it 5 stars instead of 4, would have been the inclusion of instructions to change it from a 2-way to 1-way draw and how to reverse the side that the pull string mounts on. I had to resort to Youtube for that. Also recommend NOT hanging in drywall only as this is a very heavy curtain rod once curtains are on. Yes it depends on the weight of your curtains, but even without curtains this traverse rod is heavy so I definitely recommend anchoring into studs with at least the intermediate brackets. I've had it installed now for about 2 weeks and have had no problems whatsoever. Certainly meets my expectations and the finish goes great with the rest of the hardware throughout my house.

Looks really nice. Only hiccup was the directions were lacking. Didn’t state that the middle brackets needed to be mounted 1/4 inch lower than the end brackets. Otherwise the tract glides well and track hooks were easy to take out. Be sure to put finials on before putting it in place!

The finials were larger than I thought they'd be but they are very good looking and the whole rod is lovely. Pricey sure, but feel they were worth the money. I love our choice in satin nickel. My husband managed to put them up and modify the cord for length in an afternoon. I'm very happy to have found these rods.
