It is designed to lock down porous surfaces and provide an appropriate base for paint or wallcovering. Due to the variations in types and ages of plaster, ROMAN suggests a compatibility test. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to conduct the patch test: Preparation: Ensure the plaster surface is clean and dry. Remove any loose paint or particles from the area where you'll be conducting the test. Cover the surrounding area with a plastic sheet or tarp to protect it from accidental spills or splatters. Mix the primer prior to application. Application: Apply a small amount of the PRO-999 (Rx-35) primer to the clean plaster surface using a paintbrush or roller. Keep the layer thin and even. Avoid thick applications as they may affect the test results. Drying time: Allow the primer to dry completely (3-12 hours). Be patient and avoid touching or disturbing the test area during this time. Evaluation: After the primer has dried, inspect the test area for any signs of poor adhesion, bubbling, blistering, cracking, or other undesirable reactions.
