What is the curve like? I have a neoangle shower.

Asked by vas November 4, 2020

Hi there and thanks for your interest. the shape of this rod is similar to a traditional curved rod and requires two parallel walls to install. Ihope that helps.

Hi, Great question! 8 inches is required between the center of the mount to the ceiling to allow for enough room to rotate the rod.

Is the ball Chrome like the pics or white like the video?

Asked by Walter July 29, 2020

The ball matches the cap so if the cap is Chrome, the Accent ball is also Chrome. Should you choose the Brushed nickel finish, the ball would be Brushed Nickel, as well.

Can this item be mounted on a painted plaster wall?

Asked by TomNYC November 15, 2019

Hi Tom, the Rotator Rod Curved Shower Rod can be mounted on a pained and/or plastered wall. What cannot be used is the No-Drill Adapter - that's only for hard surfaces like tile, stone and fiberglass.

Adds more room to the shower. White accents are close pink color.
Installing this in our shower over a traditional shower rod gave me a bit more room in the shower, but the fact that you can rotate this inward when not showering also made the bathroom feel a little bit bigger when not in use. This is a great concept and the pivot points are sturdy and well designed. The instructions are not that great so go over them a couple of times and make sure you give yourself enough room to put the metal caps on that will clear any existing tile. My only complaints about this product is that the rotating ball sticks about 2.5" from the wall. at first we were getting a bit of splash coming out of the shower as a result. so there was a bit of a learning curve. second complaint is that the white rotator ball looks more pink than white. I tried to capture this in my pictures but it didn't turn out very clear.

GREAT Concept and Wonderful Design
The Rotator Rod's Space-Saving Curved Rotating Shower Rod with Brushed Nickel Caps and White Accents is a great product that solves a common problem in bathrooms: a lack of space for a curved shower rod. Obviously, curved shower rods add lots of room in traditional showers, but they stick out into your bathroom and use up valuable space. Now, when you're in the shower, you rotate the rod out, and, when you're done, rotate it back in. See my attached photos to see just how much extra space this provides for you! Installation was relatively easy, though I do wish the instructions included measurements to assist in locating where to place the screws. Not a big deal, but it would've been helpful. Also, here's a tip: To tighten the clear nylon Set Screw in the Rotator Ball, rotate the bar/ball 90 degrees so that the screw is facing you and make sure you have a really small flathead screwdriver. The only thing I don't like about the Rotator Rod is the Rod Reacher. Although I understand why it's provided, it feels somewhat flimsy and I find it to be awkward to use. Overall, great product, though!

Rotating Curved Shower Rod is not an improvement from the standard
I was excited to install this new curved shower curtain rod in my shower. The instructions seemed simple enough for an experienced DIY guy like myself and the manufacturer made the amount of parts small enough to make for a quick project. I did find the instructions hard to follow since the pictures were not sharp and the explanations aren't very technical, they're more like the longhand of the designer who assumes the buyer would be on the same page. I found some faults in the design that made it very hard to work with. First, the pins that hold the shower rod to the wall mount brackets aren't secured on the ends and they can easily just fall out. This happened to me upon installation and I wasted 10 minutes finding it. Second, the rotation of the rod is very stiff and requires a lot of force and effort to turn. Doing so, even with care, completely ripped the left side wall mount out of my wall. (Please see pictures). I followed these instructions to the letter and still find myself going back to the store to buy a drywall patch kit. I'll be going back to the standard shower curtain rod and throwing this piece in the recycling bin. I do not recommend this product.

Response from Rotator Rod SpecialistSep 15, 2015
Dear Mastadruma,

First, I appreciate your feedback. I'm sorry you had difficulty with the installation of the Rotator Rod. I wanted to respond to your concerns.

The pins - when you received your Rod there should have been o-rings on each pin. They are there to hold the pins in place during shipping. Then, after installation the Accent Balls slide over them as another assurance that the remain stable. It seems the o-rings somehow became dislodged or, it is possible that during installation they were omitted (hard to admit as an owner). If this is the case, I very much apologize. I know that's REALLY frustrating. The pins are small and not easy to replace especially if you're in the middle of the installation. I will continue to look at ways to keep them in place as they are key parts to the whole rotating function.

An even bigger problem was that the rod was too long for your tub opening. (it's meant for openings from 58 1/2 - 60"). The rotation should not be difficult - ever - in fact there is a built-in resistance mechanism at the top of the rotation to prevent it from free-falling on the down side. In your case something was impeding it's free motion. You didn't specifically identify it but I'm guessing that getting the cam into the Wall Mount during installation required a good deal of force, as well. This happens with a really tight fit. The picture of your wall after you took the Wall mount down shows where the screws followed the rotating track. I'm sure that the rod was just a bit too long for the tub opening.

I'm sorry for this difficulty and again appreciate your taking the time to share your experience. I'm sure the feedback it will be valuable to others, as it has been for me.

Perfect upgrade for a small bath!
Mom just moved to her new place and needed a new shower rod installed, this was the perfect rod, Gave her extra room for her shower/bath and when not in use left her with more room to move around the bathroom. Easy to install and looks great. I used my cordless drill with a tile bit after measuring 75 inches up from the floor, made four holes and installed the two brackets in ten minutes. Well made and a great design.

Gives lots more room to shower!
I found the concept appealling as it's like the motel rods but with a swivel. It was a cinch to install. Providing the anchors remain the same, what is provided are the screw in type. Other than a screw driver, you need no other tools. That being said, it helps to punch a small hole in the wall first as the drillers are plastic and sometimes the tips can break off. Everything else was easy to understand. The only down side I can see is with the down rod you used to rotate the shower rod itself. It takes some getting used to and is a bit difficult to use and I can already see that it would be the first thing to break. Even if that happens, the rotating rod is still functional. You can always stand on the tub edge to reach it. Until you install it you won't realize how high it goes as it's rotating. You must have the down rod in the center of the curtain rod for maximum control in rotation. My husband was very pleased with the extra room in the shower and I am pleased not to have a shower curtain hanging in the narrow passage from sink to toilet.

The Rotator Rod 60 was easy to install and is easy to rotate in and out. The extra room in the shower is great I also like the extra room in the bathroom when the bar is rotated into the shower/tub. I like being able to dry a wet towel with out it dripping on the floor when the bar is rotated in over the tub.

Great way to save space! Install tip i learned, if you are installing right above tile, leave a little extra room for when sliding the cover caps over the bracket housings.

Unable to find a shorter rod for my less than average length tub, I purchased this with intent to modify. Given the center twists together, I had to remove the nuts from the pegs at the articulating ends to then shorten and re-drill. One star removed due to inability to reuse the nuts on the pegs after removal, or for even offering a shorter version. Luckily the knuckle slides over the peg and another screw tightens to then hold all in place. (Don't forget to put your sleeves on) After modification, I'm still impressed on overall strength and function. Works great for what I was looking for. I would imagine it's even stronger left unmodified. Upgrade the pegs to have reusable nuts, please! Overall a great product.
