Questions & Answers

What amount of roundup to gallon water?

What is the mixture of roundup pro per gallon of water? I lost my booklet.
Asked by: yardman
2 to 2.5 oz...maybe 3, max is all I've ever needed for the toughest plants like Bermuda grass, kudzu, blackberry and poison ivy. It's systemic and designed to actually kill the plant rather than just burn the leaves/stems like a contact herbicide would do...too strong of a mix is a waste with Roundup. Anything defoliating quicker than 2 weeks or longer, will probably come back. When it's mixed right, it usually takes several days to even start turning yellow....quicker than that and you probably mixed it too strong.

does this kill trees

Asked by: lm
Yes. But you should drill a 1/2 inch hole at a downward angle and fill it. Wait 2 days and repeat. The roots will die also. Great to do this on tallo trees. I kill tallo trees as a side job

Does this kill grab grass without harming tall fescue grass?

Asked by: MrFixIt66
It will only kill actively growing plants when it is either absorbed through the leaves or introduced into a fresh cut. It does not kill on contact, but the plant gets fooled into taking it into the system, through the leaves just as it would move water through the plant. It will most definitely kill fescue grass, but won't hurt a tree if it gets onto healthy bark. It also doesn't do that good of a job on crabgrass because the leaves are slick; roundup rolls off. Use a pre-emergent herbicide to keep new crabgrass from coming up...or, best natural option that I use... get your fescue thick and healthy; then you probably won't have crabgrass or other weeds

is this product like other Roundup products, Rain proof in 30 min?

Asked by: apod
I wouldn't count on that. It needs to dry on the plant and begin being absorbed into the system or it will wash off....how ever long that may take; regardless of what the directions say. Ex; if it's a 90° and sunny the plant will probably start taking roundup in immediately...but don't think it's water proof. Whatever gets absorbed before the wash will be effective and the rest will probably get washed off in a good rain

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roundup Pro I have been using this product for years on my 5 acre horse ranch. Roundup Pro has never let me down. The kill is consistent against the toughest of weeds for several months. I would recomend this for anyone battling a losing battle against weeds. The only complaint I would have is the price> When it boils down to it, money well spent minus the headaches and the guess work.

I've been using Roundup PRO for decades; effective weed killer, but MUST be used with care. My 40 rose bushes, grown on FL-native "rosa fortuniata" root stock, will die from a light spray carelessly spread from my dedicated Roundup pressure sprayer. But weeds do grow in the marble stones (over weed matt) that surround all my roses. [25-year Proven Fact: deer families always are welcome to eat my St. Augustine grass and bring their fawns to drink out of my fish pond with waterfall built for them. Deer NEVER eat my roses because they will not walk on the loose stones. ] I solved how to safely kill weeds that invade the marble stone areas - only on windless days. No sprayer; I dilute Roundup normally and pour some into a pan; then soak a high-nap paint roller which is slowly rolled over all weeds in the stones. It takes 2-weeks to kill weeds; higher concentration is just wasteful. Now I'm off to buy another 2.5-gal. blue container of Roundup PRO.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good results ain't cheap Good concentration that will last for some time and allow a wide area to be treated. Results are seen in 10 days as weeds are killed. Price is the only complaint to an otherwise effective product.
