I tried it on trees coming up along side my home that were planted by squirrels among my bushes. They are impossible to dig and remove as their roots are intermixed within the roots of the bushes. I kept just cutting them off at the roots just to see them grow back year after year. Instead of cutting them back this year I tried this new "GEL". It's like a big tube of antiperspirant. Just press the green button at base to move up the gel through the holes in top applicator. Then just rub the applicator onto the leaves of whatever you want to kill. After a few weeks you'll notice the dead shriveling plant. I recommend that you really coat the leaves well. I didn't do a good job of originally coating the leaves of little oak trees and I'll have to reapply, as they must be tough to kill.

Precision control for weeds and grass
The RoundUp precision weed and grass control is just that - control for precise areas. The product is meant to be applied to the offending plant (grass or weed). It doesn't work like the conventional RoundUp that you spray to to test. My application was to treat stubborn growing weeds in my flower bed. We have some perennial flowering plants that would be too delicate to use a spray treatment and pulling the offending weed had risk of damaging the roots of the perennial. The RoundUp precision gel was the best option. I had my doubts that just touching the weeds with the precision gel was going to work but after 3 - 4 days the tested weeds began to turn yellow. By the end of the week they were just about dead which made it safe to pull them. The RoundUp precision gel dispensed very easily and product control is adequate. It's a little more time consuming to treat this way versus spraying, however, you do get the precision control.

Gel RoundUp
Roundup gal is a good idea, but it has limited use (Precision) I would think if a weed could be pulled from a container, do it. Now the roundup works, and you will not have to worry about spray being blown to your main plant. Also sometimes when you pull a weed that is close to a plant, you damage the root system. I will tie the gal to a stick for use in potted plants that are on the ground outside. This will keep me from having to bend over or getting on the ground. I also think that the opening should be about half its size. Applied on perennial 8.24.16. This hopefully will kill its root system.

Didn't work for me.
Great idea but it doesn't work well. Roundup has always been my go to weed killer so I was excited to give this precision gel a try. It is a gel that is in a container like a solid deodorant. I found it hard to get the get on the weeds without using a hand underneath so you would need to wear gloves especially working with poison ivies. It only worked on some weeds. I didn't see any affect at all on others. I tried reapplying and still didn't work.

We are sorry that the Roundup Precision Gel Weed & Grass Killer did not control the weeds as expected. We recommend to apply when the weeds are actively growing and daytime temperatures are consistently 60 - 85 degrees. Repeat application if hard-to-control weeds are not completely killed within 4 weeks. Because Roundup Precision Gel Weed & Grass Killer does not have activity in the soil, follow-up applications may be necessary as new weeds appear. There are some weeds that this product does not control using normal application methods. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please call 877-220-3089 for assistance. When calling, please refer to this review. scotts

Wroks great
I needed some good weed killer for mainly one side of my driveway that has a drop off. It is hard for me to get to with a weed eater. So thought I would try this Roundup precision Gel weed and grass killer. I had my son walk around to the bottom of the steep part and use this Gel weed killer on the weeds on that side and it really works great. No more weeds on that side now. So I am very happy I got this week killer. Now I do not have to worry about trying to weed eat that side and standing on a steep area while doing that. Also used it around the cement black at the end of my driveway where some grass and weeds were coming up through that. Looks so much nicer now. Plus no more weed eating around that either. Container is easy to open. Just push both green tabs at the same time to take off the cap. Then you click the green tab at the bottom about 20 times or until you see the gel appear through the little top holes. Rub the weed killer on the weeds or grass you need to kill and that is all. This kind of gel weed killer is nice because if you have weeds coming up in your flower garden you can just rub it on the weeds. There is no spray to go onto your flowers and harm them. It is like a large deodorant stick where you only rub it on where you want and avoid getting it on other areas such as your grass, flowers or plants you do not want harmed. Great for tight places and easy to use in hard to reach areas such as one side of my driveway where it drops off steep. The Roundup Weed and Grass killer kills the root so they will not grow back. You can also use this in vegetable gardens. Product is quarantined to work or you get your money back with your proof of purchase or they will replace the product. I put the Roundup week and grass killer on the weeds in the late afternoon and by morning they were dead. Not bad at all.

Awkward to use
I was excited to try this product, but found it extremely difficult to use. The applicator is too large for small weeds and too heavy to press against the leaves. You actually have to have a hand behind the plant to get the gel to apply and stick. I was hoping to use this for poison oak, but even with gloves, I am not willing to hold on to the leaves to apply it. I just found it awkward to use. It seemed to work for one weed, but not so good on the other. I held a gloved hand behind each one and applied a liberal amount over each weed. I think I will stick to the spray or for poison oak, paint it on with a brush like I have done in the past. It just didn't work well for me.

barely works
As my title says it barely works, if it worked any less I'd have to say it didn't work at all. They have a good idea but honestly its very easy to smear some in a place you don't want it currently that's not a problem because it doesn't seem to work all that well. Expensive for its size, I applied 12 days ago and have minimal results. I cannot recommend this product. My pictures are of test areas I applied it to 12 days ago. I doubt the result will change in the next 48 hours.

This is an expensive option to RoundUp as a liquid spray. It was recommended to help control an aggressive weed growing in/among herbicide-sensitive desirable plantings. While it worked as the packaging indicated the contents are quickly used up, making it quite costly. Plus, you wind up with a herbicide contaminated plastic container/applicator that isn't eligible for recycling.
