I use my iron almost daily. I have recently started quilting and ironing is a very important part. My previous iron sputtered and leaked water no matter what I did. I went online and compared irons and the Rowena I purchased was rated the best iron for the price. I could not be happier with it and was very impressed with all the steam holes. It performs great! The only negative thing I can say is about the instruction book. It was mostly pictures, which isn't bad but it never explained that you plug it in for on and unplug for off. I realize this is actually safer but I believe it should be stated. So along with pictures you should consider writing words to clarify. If my model iron is this good, I can only imagine how the top of the line performs. ...Read More Read Less

We've always had Rowenta irons because they perform so beautifully, This, our newest one, is no exception. We especially like the more elongated and tapered tip, which makes it easier to get into small places in the garment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from no The dial is located in a place where, when I pick up the iron, my finger hits the setting dial and changes it. I'm sure the Iron is reliable, but this aspect is frustrating to me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Iron electrical connections fails We bought our second Rowenta iron(Rowenta Focus model DW5080) after the first one failed in the electrical connection where the cord is attached to the handle. After about 2 years this same connection has failed on the second iron. Rowenta's said I needed to nearest repair center where they would examine and give a repair estimate for $35-50. I think Iron cost about $100 to begin with. I think this failure is a design defect. In the ratings below, iron works fine as long as connection stays connected I just think this particular component and design is poor.. Do not buy Rowenta irons!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I bought my first Rowenta iron in 1990 and I have used it since then very often and it was a great iron but in the last year I noticed a small crack in the side and water started leaking out so I purchased a new iron and Rowenta is the only brand I would consider. I am 66 years old and until 1990 I had always used different brands but when I bought my first Rowenta I would never think of any other brand, so this is my second Rowenta iron I have purchased and based on my first one this should be the last one I have to purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THIS IS THE BEST IRON This is the best iron ever. I have use this kind of irons for at least 20+ years and I would never get anything else than Rowenta Irons Great product and quality I just purchase this one again to have it as an extra my old one is at least 8 years old and is working great If you take care of the product it will last you forever. I will recommend this product to anyone that wants the best. I like them so much because I love the way they look, the quality and it is such a great product and a great price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent steam but..... First, this iron produces the best steam of any iron but there are several drawbacks: as many have commented before, it's extremely difficult to see the water level--and this iron uses a great deal of water; it would have been so easy to just make the water reservoir clear plastic instead of the smoky color. The cord is a great extra length but it is positioned so that it gets in the way. I actually thought I was buying the model with the retractable cord and I don't know why all irons don't have retractable cords but the biggest drawback are the universal picture-only instructions. They leave a lot to be desired though I fully understand the international aspect. There are, however, some steam markings which have no directions attached to them. i would greatly appreciate some instruction for those.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the price I'm one of those people who enjoys ironing so I am willing to pay for quality and you will find excellent quality in the Rowenta Focus Steam Iron DW5080. I did pay attention to other reviews and I read all directions before using the iron. I've not had a single problem with water leaking or damage to my clothes. The iron moves smoothly and has very responsive controls. Heat is evenly distributed over the plate of the iron. I like the pointy "nose" so it's easy to iron into corners. My only issue, and I saw this in other reviews, is that the heat control is so responsive that it can be moved just with moving your hand on the handle of the iron. I've learned to be more careful with hand placement so this is less of an issue. Another minor issue is that the iron is heavier than my previous less expensive irons.
