A completely redesigned lid makes the Step-On Waste Can with Liner Lock convenient and easy to use. New Liner Lock bag wires secure the trash bag to the rim of the can preventing the bag from sliding down.     Can't find proper bags

    standard 13 gallon kitchen trash bags fit well. The bagag retainer is not much use.

    How do you get the lid on I have tried everything I can think of and nothing seems to fit or work

    Step on foot pedal to raise the metal rod. Insert one of the two side prongs into a hole at same time you insert metal rod into center hole. Slide lid in direction of the other hole and snap it it.

    This might be an outdated question. The lid comes attached in 2019. If not, don't purchase and if ordered online, return. Can to a Home Depot store. This trash can is returnable for 180 days, even if ordered online it can be returned to a store.

    Best way to find out is either phone Home Depot customer service or check online at HomeDepot.com., use the store finder feature for stores where you live. Currently, 7-2020, white is unavailable in store or online in NH, but check it may be in parts of the country as it is still shown online. On occasion, like some seasonal items, are available in store only, too.

    How does the bag stay attached? I tried wrapping bag around top of can and bag tears from stretch...

    Inside this economical trash can there are two locks, see the online images. Some bags require a little stretch at the top edge to fit over the inner locks. The gray locks lift, bags goes over, tuck between lock and trash can, then locks get pushed down in place. Most always they stay in place. On occasion if bags is not pushed in, can slip from lock. But generally, with a little careful placement, bags stay in place. For the cost, this is a great trash can. When our kitchen one gets too 'dirty' looking or doesn't clean well, inside bottom, we purchase a new one and use the old one in workshop, garage or shed, some place no longer getting typical kitchen waste. This is a good, economical trash can for everyday use despite the inner bag holding locks being finicky at times when bag size vary smaller than they should be, still, it's for trash, why spend more than necessary.

    It comes with a lid which you need to attach (easy), in order for the foot press to work.

    I haven't had a problem. I also didn't have that problem with a previous Rubbermaid trashcan that we owned.

    This is a great kitchen trash can. Nice Price! I decided since my fridge, dishwasher and stove were black maybe I should change my can too! Glad I did. Easy to add, hold securely and remove the kitchen trash bags, weighted nicely so when empty doesn't tip easily and the step-on, to open, works smoothly! I am happy!

    Economical and functional. Performs satisfactorily. Replaced our 27 year old plastic trash can only because lid hinge broke. Having looked for years and not found an inexpensive acceptably functioning trash can, delighted to find this. Foot pedal works fine. Can is light so tends to get nudged back against wall and lid doesn't open all the way but still enough to use. Not a big deal. Old one required lifting lid so foot pedal is cleaner. Roomy and with the pivoting lip edge holding the bags, it's easy to change. Unobtrusive and not overly attracting attention, we're satisfied with performance and cost.

    We needed a bigger trashcan for the kitchen and this was cheap and works perfectly. I especially like that it will keep the lid open if pushed all the way up so you don't have to open it each time while doing cooking.

    I ordered this in the color White...huge mistake. it was packaged very well but it looked used, was scuffed up on the bottom with black grit, oil marks on front back and sides, and had dirt on the inside. I wish I would've taken pics before I began to scrub it with bleach, Ajax, and Dawn. Even after scrubbing it didn't remove the marks completely. Can't comment on the functionality yet only have had it for 1 day. Will be purchasing a more high end stainless steel one soon. DISAPPOINTED!!!! Not worth my Gas money returning it.

    I like this 13 gal Step-on Trash Can in black, because it really does keep the odors inside the can, when the lid is kept closed. I purchased it 3 weeks ago and love it. Even as silly as it sounds and by reading the instructions, it does NOT give written reason what the gray half pieces that come up when there's no trash bag in the can. Putting the bag under those is very, very difficult, but can be done. If I put the bag over the gray arms, on each side of the trash, it works great there as well. Another fantastic reason why I love this trash can, with the lid on tight, our 2 tall dogs aren't able to get into the trash at all. This is amazing! The smells are sealed in tight and they walk by it, not giving it a glance or a 2nd thought of what might be in there. Which way is right, I cannot tell. It works better than I expected and I'm so grateful to have bought this one. I still love the trash can whether I understand the gray flaps or not, it's the best $19.95 we've spent in a long time.
