          A:  Thank you for your interest in our products. This model 3H98 is compatible with HomeFree and Configuration Closet Systems only. The hooks on the top portion hook to the underside and attach to existing shelving wires.

            A:  it basically clips on to the edge and you squeeze the other clips so that it fits between the railing of a wire shelf in your closet.

                  Doesn't fit wire shelves properly without modification or angling down
                  Does not fit Closetmaid or "Old" rubbermaid shelving. Front hooks are too short to clip properly onto the front of the top rack. If hung on the bottom wire, the rack hangs down at an angle on the Closetmaid shelf because clip wires are too short. We tried it on the existing pantry Rubbermaid shelf and it did not fit that either. To get the rack hanging level you have to do some modification. Rubbermaid should specify in the product description what shelving actually works-what year models.

                    Good concept. Be sure to examine what type of shelf/rack you have. I have two types in my closet but was able to make these work for my needs. However one isn’t as secure as it could be had my shelf been more like the model.

                    It doesn’t fit My Rubbermaid shelves
                    It doesn’t work despite my closet having Rubbermaid hardware. One would think their accessories would be compatible across their entire line of closet systems.

Based on the photo you've provided, your shelf is our Linen Shelf from our Direct Mount Line and would not be compatible with the Tie and Belt Valet listed here. The item you would need is the Tie & Belt Valet : (#3R14)

                      Disappointed with new design
                      Just bought a 3H98 tie and belt rack. When I tried to install it next to an old one I have, that I love, I found it doesn’t work because I have a shelf that has the place for the hangers hanging down so the hangers slide freely. That gets in the way of installation. The old one I have had the same clip on the front as you have on the back of the current one. Is there any way to get one like my old one? It actually looks like your picture here, which is misleading. Picture is of old one, which I need another of.
