Answer

Hi Dan, unfortunately we do not offer a 6 in. Utility Single Track Bracket on Homedepot.com nor are we able to place a special order in our Home Depot stores for something the vendor does not sell. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!

Why not the same end hooks concept (function) in double tracks?

Asked by Petey July 21, 2015

Answer

Thank you for your interest in our products. The Twin Track brackets are designed so the bracket can be screwed/fastened into the shelf, instead of supported by an "end hook" on the bracket. For assembly instructions, please visit our website, and click on "Assembly Instructions" listed below "Support Center". Find "Decorative Shelving - Single and Twin Track".

What is the function of the hole in the bracket. Is there supposed to be a bar to stabilize the brackets or is it just decorative?

Asked by squint July 12, 2015

Answers

The hole means nothing and does nothing to stabilize the bracket. I drilled a hole at the end and added a piece between the two pieces to stabilize the brackets myself.

Do you offer discount price for larger orders of product?

The Rubbermaid Single Track system does not have a way to secure the board to the brackets except for the small lip on the end of the bracket.

The brackets got the job done, although they don't sit in the metal rails tightly. They can easily pivot from side to side. I built selves using these brackets to hold DVDs. They are not holding a lot of weight, nor is there much activity around them as they are in a closet.

I'm With Stan! How do you use these???
I too am looking at these nifty bow-tie anchors and I challenge anyone at Rubbermaid to figure out how they are supposed to be put thru a 1/4 inch diameter hole without destroying your wallboard. I am a veteran of wall shelf systems but this one has me stumped. Using the pin or scrunching with fingers or tools. I don't get it. Better make a video of this one when you figure it out.

I have used for my pantry shelf. Quite satisfactory. Has a tendency of being a little shaky sometimes. Don't push sideways too much. Vertical load bearing is not a problem.

For shelves that you want adjustable, these work well. You do need flat-head screws to mount the rails to be able to use every position.
