Being an avid DIYer, I often find myself using products in unintended ways (to use a cliché, thinking out of the box). Such is the case for this cart. I’ve always had issues with collecting large amounts of yard debris, particularly leaves in the autumn. I ordered this 2x4-bushel cart hoping a 30-gallon yard trash bag would fit in each bag. I’m pleased to report it does. But, the quality and strength of the cart’s bags is so good, I may not need to use the trash bags. Rubbermaid may cringe about my intended use of their cart, which is intended for indoor use (e.g., laundry in institutional settings).
Due to shipping and inventory issues, I ended up getting one cart frame and a single 8-bushel bag as well as the 2x4-bushel bags. All bags are very durable, made of very heavy material (what appears to be a very heavy rubberized vinyl).
The cart frame is sturdier than I expected. It opens and collapses fairly easily (after a few missteps trying). The wheels are rather small (intended for level floor use) so using it in my bumpy yard presents some challenges, but the wheels are very smooth and quiet. One small issue I’ve run across is that the cart is not necessarily stable when collapsed. It is free standing but tips over fairly easily. A solution might be to put a lock-pedal on one of the wheels.
In all, this is a very well constructed and durable cart which can be used for many purposes, even some that are cringe-worthy.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Sturdy, Nice Design
Cons: tips easily when collapsed, no lock on any wheels
