A:  The tire rests against the wall. Over time the wall can get dirty.

A:  I have mine mounted on the wall, where the bike is fully hanging but wheels are against the wall I have 2 bikes hanging side by side about 10 ft high above my work bench no doubt they're not going anywhere

A:  Thank you for your interest in our products! The Rubbermaid Vertical Bike Rack can be mounted directly on the hook as long as the Rubbermaid FastTrack Rail is installed correctly. The wheels of the bike will not need to be resting on the floor if installed by the instructions.

A:  Fully suspended The rear tire rests against the wall. I chose this system over a prefab system as this system has a higher weight capacity than the prefab systems.

A:  My bikes hang a few inches off the floor. No issues so far.

A:  I installed mine so that the bikes are all hanging, the rear tire is not on the ground.

A:  Not really. It may not be fully clicked into place on the track. It could still move a little from the weight of the bike hitting it but definitely should not be sliding freely.

A:  There is a storage rack package that I had order on line from HD a number of years ago with a pre selection of hooks. Not sure if they still have this item on line, but worth the time to check out. I added more hooks I wanted when I picked up my order. Caution on buying on line as cost could be higher than buying pieces at HD individually. I found this as a special sale and saved about 10% over store costs and shipping was free to the store. I priced all the items in advance of going on line to be sure I was pricing item for item.

A:  The bike mounting hook is sold separate from the track. However the track does come in different lengths so you are not limited to one size only. The size of the trach you need will depend on the numbers of bike hooks you are considering.

A:  The mounting hooks must be purchased separately from the track.
