      A:  First, you drill a hole the same diameter of the white nylon anchor. Second, you insert the anchor in the hole and lightly tap in until it's almost flush with the drywall. Third, you insert the black pin in the hole of the anchor and tap it with a hammer until the 'wings' on the front of the anchor fold out. Lastly, you screw in the screw. It sometimes helps to do a dry run with just the screw to get the anchor threaded. Then mount the rail afterwards. Personally, I would not use just the anchors to mount these shelves unless you are NOT going to load them very heavy. It's best to find the studs in the wall and screw directly into those.

        We should have listened to the other reviewers. The anchors were useless. My son ended up finding studs (non-standard) for some walls and using large self tapping anchors for walls were we needed to use anchors. I recommend it only because the screws were good and it was helpful to have everything when he put the shelves up in the laundry closet.

          I was able to use the largest screws into the...
          I was able to use the largest screws into the studs in the wall without using the wall anchors, however, the medium and small screws to hold the shelves in place were too short. I screwed them all the way in and they do not go in far enough into the shelf and fell right back out. I would not recommend these.
