Hello Charlie. Porcelain tile 3/8" thick are one of the hardest material to cut and for that reason, we would recommend you a cuter with more breaking strength such as the Speed24 ( If you are having problems with Practic tile cutter, try to score 2 inches backwards at the end of the tile and then score forward from the edge all the way to the top. Also try to score twice. If you still have problems, please give us a call at 305 715 9892 and we will guide you over the phone. Thank you!

Though it scored and cut tile easily, on my tile it marred the surface about 1/8 " wide on both sides of the score, removing all of the finish and exposing white underneath. Along edges of the room, was ok, but where cuts were made at entry, not the clean look I wanted. Fortunately I was able to find & borrow a tile saw to finish the room.

I needed this product for a project where I couldn't use my wet saw. I was cutting 18" ceramic tiles. This cutter works very well. I love that I can replace the cutter if needed. I am very happy with my purchase.

Economical Tile cutter for DIY users
I needed to tile the floor in my bathroom and PRACTIC 21 IN. TILE CUTTER came in handy for that project. it is well made with Clear pictorial instructions on the side of the box. All you need to do is to remove the cutter and seat the cutting tip in it's slot. You can loosen or tighten using the handle bar. Once seated you are good to go.Just mark the tile depending on it's hardness you may have to go over the etch ing line twice or thrice. Once done then press down and you have your cut. Handy tool for small jobs.

Might be good.....
I thought this might be great tool for my kitchen and bathroom remodeling project. To my big surprise, nowhere on the box or in the box I did not find any instructions how to use this cutter proper way. Even on the web page for product I checked “Use and Care Manual”, but all I found there was a picture of cutter. So we tried it our way. For cutting practicing I purchased 2 inexpensive ceramic tiles. After few trial attempts to cut the ceramic tile we finally got somewhat smooth cut on the top of tile, remaining part under did not look so good. Cutting takes too long time, the cutter might be good just for small job. But again, instructions “how to” are not included, so maybe the way as we used the cutter was not the right way. This cutter is made for cutting ceramic, porcelain and glass tile up to 13/32” thick, diagonal cut on tile size 16x16 inch and straight cut length of 21”. Manufacturer offers 2 years warranty.

Excellent Tile cutter
Excellent tile cutter. I used this tile cutter to tile my parents bathroom. The tile I was using was fairly thick and high quality. The cutter was able to cut it and leave a clean edge. The Tile cutter is light weight and compact so it is easy to store and move around. I’ve included pictures. Notice the two strips of foam pads. They are nice since the tile doesn’t slide. Also, notice the V- tile brake device. Its simple to use and I like it on top where I can see it because then I know where the pressure is being applied to the tile. It has a scoring wheel as shown. I’ve also include some pictures of cutting a tile. Notice the edge is clean and the tile is quite thick. If you are looking to do some tiling then this is a tool you should have.

Goodt for small tile
I used this tile cutter for a somewhat small bathroom job. It has a ruler for measurement and squaring at one end. Opposite the ruler is a little depression in the bottom plate for the cutter wheel to go down into. This is great because you do not have to move the cutter wheel up in order to push down and snap the tile. This works especially good for small tile but with larger tile, you need to raise the cutter so you can snap them in the center. The cutter wheel was nice and sharp and the rubbery foam the tile rests on helped keep it nice and stable. I took a picture of the edge of a tile cut. Some were smooth, others had slightly jagged edges that I've had even with some saws. I cut ceramic tile but imagine larger porcelain tile might be difficult, especially since the bars and frame bend a bit when trying to snap a tile at the center of the cutter. I also did not receive an instruction booklet inside the box.

Solid construction and good tile cutter
This tile cutter is made of quality materials and does a great job. I used it to add some tiles around my wash basin. The product itself is very simple but designed well. You have 2 bars that allow the scoring device to scratch/score the tile. Also on the same item is a cracking bar that when you push down on will snap the tile along the line you just scored. The cutter includes a nice soft rubber that holds the tile in place and a measure/wall to push the tile up against when working. I wish it had some feet on the bottom so I didn't have to use it on the ground or on a workbench. But great product.
