Challenging but Ok
I'm pleased with the end result, it looks 10 times better than before. I use 3 cans for a 10 foot outdoor solar umbrella. You will need a needle to unplug the nozzle after every few sprays when it stops spraying, so lots of patience. Price is way too high (16+tax) for how inconvenient and not user friendly this spray is. But! Is better than buying a new umbrella. Did 3 application, with sun and underneath the umbrella you can see dark and light spots from where I over spray. Still I'm happy.

    Doesn't Work
I am an experienced DIY person and this paint doesn't work. After 4 coats of paint, you can see by the pictures, it still looks terrible. The product description says that it is soft to the touch, this is not the case for me. My cushions are now hard and rough from the paint. Not only am I out $100 for this terrible product, I now need to buy new cushions.

Oh no, not something we like to hear. Rust-Oleum Outdoor Fabric Paint works best on weathered/worn fabric outdoor polyester or polyester blend fabrics. It is not recommended on new or treated fabrics which are designed to repel water and make water based paint difficult to apply. Apply a light coat, waiting 30 minutes between each additional coat. Too many coats or heavy application could result in a stiffer feeling fabric. Give us a call at 800-481-4785 so we can hear more about your application and try to make things right.

      This spray destroyed my pillows
I purchased a bottle and followed the instructions. It kept splattering as I moved in a left to right motion trying to evenly spray the pillows. Then the nozzle stopped working prior to being halfway through the can and would not spray anymore. I tried it again the next day and no change. I returned the spray to a different location and picked up two more bottles hoping one of them would work. The same thing occurred with both! My heart sunk because now my pillows to my new couch are ruined!

        Worked for me!
I figured I'd try this product on our outside rug before I went and spent hundreds on a new one. Ours was extremely faded. Because of the pattern it took a bit to tape off but we are extremely happy with the end result. For a 8x11 rug it covered in 4 cans which did 2 coats, but I did a quick last coat with a 5th can. Here's a before an after

That's not what we expect to hear, Linda! To ensure the best results with Rust-Oleum Outdoor Fabric Spray Paint, it is essential that the can is shaken for a full minute before each use and shaken often during your application. If the nozzle becomes clogged, it can be removed and rinsed with warm water.

          Amazing results
I know it says not to use on sunbrellas but I wanted to see if it worked. Took 2 cans for a standard sized market umbrella. Do multiple thin coats. Dramatic results, looks brand new.

            Game changer
Easy to use and great coverage! I was really pleasantly surprised how well it worked after reading some of the reviews. It did exactly what I wanted it to do! My cushions were black and very discolored. This was a great way to revive them with out spending a ton of money (I bought to cans).

Don't Waste Your Time or Money
This product is a good idea - I always like anti-consumer tricks that avoid buying new - BUT I was very disappointed with the results. My patio cushions were badly faded on the fronts. I picked a color that was close, thinking it would be easier to cover. After FOUR coats, the spray paint did "cover" but you could still see the pattern underneath (see pic 1). I don't want to apply more paint, because the material is getting rough and kind of pilled. Disappointed with the final outcome - cushions clearly look painted and streaky/splotchy (see pic 2). Piping made it impossible to cover all surface areas in the nooks and crannies - which get exposed when you sit down. Unless you are attempting to cover the most basic cushions without any trim or pattern, and are using essentially the same color - don't waste your time or money. I wish I would have just put the $60 I spent on the spray paint towards new cushions.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Maria. When working with dark fabrics or fabrics with a pattern, we do recommend priming first with the Rust-Oleum Specialty White Outdoor Fabric Paint. You'll need to apply 1-2 light coats of primer and wait a minimum of 1 hour before painting on the top coat. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5 Rustoleum

                Renewed
Not the easy to use until you get the hang of it. 6 inches away is too far, 3-4 inches away was better. Drying time about 45 mins or longer, it took an entire day. Use back and forth motions with slight overlapping with each row. I bought 4 cans for 4 chairs. I used only 3 cans, kept the last for any touch-ups is needed. I was a bit afraid to get Chili R ed because I thought it would be more of a "Firery" red type of hue, but it is a perfect pop of color for my deck. I like the outcome and definitely saved money of buying new furniture.

                  Product is great!
First of all, let me say I did not use this on an exterior piece. I have an old indoor sofa that we wanted to freshen up so my son could use it in the game room. The pillows are two sided and the backs are red stripes or red flowers. So I wanted to paint the patterned side with navy blue paint. The rest of the couch is khaki. I tested out the paint using a small side pillow. I was overly ambitious by trying to tape off the stripes! The fabric was pretty absorbent (probably because it was indoor fabric) so I used over 1/2 a can on this pillow alone. I’d start with a base coat next time. (Having trouble locating the base coat product). This is two coats of paint with thirty minutes between coats. Then I left it overnight. This morning I went out and touched up a few spots. You MUST shake the can frequently. The coverage is very good and the painted fabric is flexible. The paint bled beneath the tape in some areas….but that was my fault. I’ll do the rest of the pillows but they will be solid blue and I won’t try to get fancy! This pillow was sacrificial but I feel confident about doing the rest!
