Amazing results
I know it says not to use on sunbrellas but I wanted to see if it worked. Took 2 cans for a standard sized market umbrella. Do multiple thin coats. Dramatic results, looks brand new.

    Game changer
Easy to use and great coverage! I was really pleasantly surprised how well it worked after reading some of the reviews. It did exactly what I wanted it to do! My cushions were black and very discolored. This was a great way to revive them with out spending a ton of money (I bought to cans).

Don't Waste Your Time or Money
This product is a good idea - I always like anti-consumer tricks that avoid buying new - BUT I was very disappointed with the results. My patio cushions were badly faded on the fronts. I picked a color that was close, thinking it would be easier to cover. After FOUR coats, the spray paint did "cover" but you could still see the pattern underneath (see pic 1). I don't want to apply more paint, because the material is getting rough and kind of pilled. Disappointed with the final outcome - cushions clearly look painted and streaky/splotchy (see pic 2). Piping made it impossible to cover all surface areas in the nooks and crannies - which get exposed when you sit down. Unless you are attempting to cover the most basic cushions without any trim or pattern, and are using essentially the same color - don't waste your time or money. I wish I would have just put the $60 I spent on the spray paint towards new cushions.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Maria. When working with dark fabrics or fabrics with a pattern, we do recommend priming first with the Rust-Oleum Specialty White Outdoor Fabric Paint. You'll need to apply 1-2 light coats of primer and wait a minimum of 1 hour before painting on the top coat. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5 Rustoleum

Not the easy to use until you get the hang of it. 6 inches away is too far, 3-4 inches away was better. Drying time about 45 mins or longer, it took an entire day. Use back and forth motions with slight overlapping with each row. I bought 4 cans for 4 chairs. I used only 3 cans, kept the last for any touch-ups is needed. I was a bit afraid to get Chili R ed because I thought it would be more of a "Firery" red type of hue, but it is a perfect pop of color for my deck. I like the outcome and definitely saved money of buying new furniture.

          Product is great!
First of all, let me say I did not use this on an exterior piece. I have an old indoor sofa that we wanted to freshen up so my son could use it in the game room. The pillows are two sided and the backs are red stripes or red flowers. So I wanted to paint the patterned side with navy blue paint. The rest of the couch is khaki. I tested out the paint using a small side pillow. I was overly ambitious by trying to tape off the stripes! The fabric was pretty absorbent (probably because it was indoor fabric) so I used over 1/2 a can on this pillow alone. I’d start with a base coat next time. (Having trouble locating the base coat product). This is two coats of paint with thirty minutes between coats. Then I left it overnight. This morning I went out and touched up a few spots. You MUST shake the can frequently. The coverage is very good and the painted fabric is flexible. The paint bled beneath the tape in some areas….but that was my fault. I’ll do the rest of the pillows but they will be solid blue and I won’t try to get fancy! This pillow was sacrificial but I feel confident about doing the rest!

            Excellent Product
Best product i have come across! We brought this as trial and error , though after spraying it truend out to be excellent. So far the colours are refreshed. My husband was so exited to use it he dint take a before picture. Regardless this is worth every penny u spend on thw spray bottel. Works like magic and covers up all the stains and dull patches. Its not chalkie nor does it bleed. The only reason i havent given it a 5 star just YET is cuz i would want ro wait a few days and see how far it last after taking in all the sun and rain. Our was a 3 piece set with almost 10cusions to cover and a single bottel of spray was enuf. If u dont want to spend on getting new cusions i would say go with this product and save urself some money. Will come back in few months or days to write another review of how it faired in terms of lasting.

Fabulous fabric paint. Never have painted outdoor cushions before and found through my research that this is the best paint to use. My cushions fabric is still soft and flexible and doesn’t feel uncomfortable to sit upon. Looks great and the color is beautiful. I did spray 4 coats as the fabric was oil stained from my ranch dogs lounging upon them.

This did a beautiful job of restoring faded cushions, and the fabric does not feel painted.

              huge improvement
This stuff isnt cheap but worth it. It took 8 cans to do my whole patio set (12 fluffy cushions). Some cushions took more than two coats. Over all im super pleased with the results

                Amazing!!!!!!
I was leary and skeptical but I read other reviews and let me tell you!!! This is a game-changer! I did outdoor cushions and it turned out amazing! It is not rough or crunchy. I am super happy with how the cushions turned out!!! I did several coats because there was a pattern. The very last coat I just used my hands to kind of smooth it all out. I can't wait to do another project!

                  Worked better than expected
I was skeptical at first since I saw some negative reviews so I figured I would leave a review. We used maybe 7 cans to do our outdoor sofa. 4 coats each cushion. Yes the cushions got a bit stiffer but it saved us $100’s over buying new custom cushions or new furniture. Our cushions were a very dirty white color. Ran them through the wash and then spray painted. The color really pops.

A great way to revive your cushions!
If you've used spray paint before on metal it is the same way you need to pay on the fabric. Keep a dry cloth or paper towels on hand to pat any blobs. Touch up after 48 hours to make sure it completely dried. It's a great alternative to replacing your cushions!! Much less expensive.

Coverage is somewhat sparse so I needed 2 cans. But once you have complete coverage the color is vibrant. My outdoor pillows were faded by the sun.

I am so happy with the results and the fact I could extend the life of my patio cushions at the fraction of the cost of replacing them! The key is light coats, drying between coats. I highly recommend this product!

Need to use a dry sponge to prevent blotches
There was definitely a learning curve. Only a graffiti artist could use this without another tool. I used a dry sponge to move the product to prevent blotches. I found working with smaller sections was also helpful and it turned out pretty great with my method. With all the negative reviews and videos I think they need me to do a training video!

Ruined my old, but functional seating
I picked up a few cans of this in the hopes of sprucing up some old, but perfectly functional, outdoor seat pads. This product is AWFUL. It goes on basically translucent, turns out incredibly splotchy (and I washed and thoroughly allowed the pads to dry in preparation), and a single can doesn't go far at all. Avoid at all costs- for what you'd need in cans, even if this worked well, it would cost more than just replacing your seating entirely.

That is not what we like to hear! We expect each can of our Rust-Oleum Specialty Outdoor Fabric Spray to cover 5.5 ft², or approximately both sides of a 20x20" cushion with a few coats to ensure full coverage. A few coats are necessary for an even finish, and this works best when applied in a perpendicular direction to the previous coat. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2 Rustoleum

I used the dark blue to cover my cushions and it came out horrible! It's all spotty and looks blotchy. I am very disappointed. I tried to apply several coats and nothing helped.

Oh no, this is not what we like to hear. Each can of Rust-Oleum Outdoor Fabric Spray Paint has a recommended coverage of 5.5 square feet. The coverage rate will be affected by the condition and type of fabric as well. Older, more porous fabric will have less coverage. Apply a light coat, waiting 30 minutes between each additional coat. Too many coats or heavy application could result in a stiffer feeling fabric. We would like to hear more about your experience using Outdoor Fabric Paint, give us a call at 800-481-4785 and we can try to make things right.

Wow! Swing and umbrella. Coverage, color, drying time all Excellent. Saw some negative reviews which puzzles me. No judgment, but suggest you google the process. Patience between coats (an hour between), then spot shots worked for me exactly as described. Maybe because original color was close (chilli pepper red). Sorry, no befores, but trust me. Result is atleast 3 shades darker and very robust. Saved $150 bucks.

                                    You’ll need a few cans
I needed about 4/5 cans to do one loveseat and two bistro seat cushions. Since these cushions are not easily replaceable due to their size/shape I figured I would give this product a try. I’m ecstatic at the results - if you follow the directions and keep the cab moving it seems to work fine - I had no uneven look as other reviews have mentioned. I have a brand new set by the looks of it!

Last year we were thinking about putting new fabric on r outdoor sofa as the cushions were terribly faded. When we looked into it it would cost us $600+ to re cover them as outdoor fabric is ridiculously expensive. So we just left them alone.... this year they came out with this outdoor fabric paint! We bought 1 can to see if it would even work....... we used it n omg!!! The cushions look brand new again!!!! It took about 6 cans to do the sofa n 2 lil chair cushions....$80 compared to $600+ :) and the cushions FEEL exactly the same. It is NOT regular spray paint. . Buy 1 can n try! It is awesome ... my picture speaks for itself :)

So pleased with how my cushions came out. I was concerned about poor coverage mentioned in some of the reviews, but I did not have that experience. I purchased one can per seat cushion, and ended up needed less than 1/2 can per cushion. Coverage was great, and the dried paint is not stiff or scratchy. Far less expensive than new cushions; I couldn’t be more pleased.
