Do I need wax?

I want to paint my kitchen walls and maybe don't fully understand the purpose of wax.

Problem is, the stores only stock a limited number of colors and it is not convenient to have to order, make multiple trips to the store, etc. It woul dbe nice if Home Depot carried the entire product line for the Chalked brand.

The color is so soft and looks great. I've heard reviews about bad applications, but I will say you have to be patient and use even strokes with a good brush. It says I didn't have to sand the piece, but I did do a quick power sand and then I sprayed the piece with rust oleum French white matte furniture spray before I painted. The piece was so dark that I didn't want to deal with dark lines after the first application. Once completely dry I touched up areas that needed it. Looking to see what I can paint next!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting Paint I've been hearing a lot of great things about chalked paint, so I thought I'd use it on a small project I was doing for my laundry room. I had a bunch of knobs that I wanted to turn into a hanging rack. I thought the wood would look nice in this serenity blue. It does! I used two coats because the first coat was streaky. The second coat looked great and then the clear coat made for a beautiful and easy project. I will say that I think the streaking was due to my using a natural bristle brush when they suggest a synthetic bristle. But the paint did go on easily, dried quickly, and left a nice finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Refinishing kitchen cabinets I used this product on laminate covered cabinets and sealed with latex poly. The application was easy, the coverage was awesome (two coats) It dried very quickly and the cabinets look great. It's a very nice change from the yellowed laminate that I am sure was white in it's day. I also used it on a desktop and the result was great!. Love this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would recommend this product. This Chalk Paint is very easy to use. It is a little less stiff than the top brands are, but works well. I use the Linen White mostly. The price is good and I'm very happy I tried it. I will continue to use, as I paint old furniture all the time. I personally would really like more color choices. I found this product by accident. Where's the advertisements for this paint? I have also used the Clear Wax and use it quite often as it dries quite fast, and protects the finish.
