Hi Bobby, Thank you for reaching out! Our Rust-Oleum Automotive High Performance Wheel Spray may be used on surfaces that will not exceed 200°F. Wheel paint does it need to be sanded before adding clear coat

Great question! Sanding of Rust-Oleum Automotive High-Performance Wheel Spray Paint is not required prior to applying a clear coat if the coating is newer. If the paint has fully cured, which can take 7-10 days, then a light sanding is recommended to create a surface profile. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3
