Is this useable for a resturant kitchen ?

If there is going to be a lot walking and also wet floor at times it may not be a good idea to use this product. I painted my garage floor about a year ago and it looked great but after about 15-18 months the most traffic areas need to be repainted. By the way, we normally do not park the cars their just the lawn mower on one side. If you decide to go with this product i recommend you get some of those hard rubbers mats. Good luck with your project.

Is it non skid finish?

Asked by floor July 21, 2017

Answer

Our 1 gal. Armor Gray Concrete Floor Paint is a smooth finish coating, it does not have anti-slip properties. We recommend mixing our Anti-Skid Additive to the coating prior to application to create an anti-skid finish: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-8-oz-Anti-Skid-Additive-301244/206495776

Answer

We do not recommend applying a 2 part epoxy clear finish over Rust-Oleum Concrete and Garage Floor Coating. If you wish to apply a clear finish, Rust-Oleum Seal Krete Clear Seal is recommended, as it is designed for use over latex and acrylic one-part floor paints. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Seal-Krete-1-gal-Clear-Seal-Gloss-Sealer-606001/203002730

Answer

Rust-Oleum Concrete Floor Paint can handle road salts as well as gas and oil. Best practice is to try to rinse or clean the floor periodically to assist with the longevity and performance of the coating.

Can this product be used before ceramic tile installation on concrete flooring (indoors)?

Asked by Alma June 15, 2017
1
Answer

Thanks for reaching out, Alma! Rust-Oleum Concrete Floor Paint can be used on the concrete, but we do recommend that you talk to the manufacturer of the glue to make sure their glue can stick to an acrylic coating. We recommend waiting for full cure before you would consider gluing the tile down. That's generally about 7 days.

Should I wear a respirator while applying? It is outdoors.

Asked by BrenConk June 4, 2017
1
Answer

Our Battleship Gray Concrete Floor Paint is an acrylic water-based coating, and is low-odor. When applied outdoors, odor and vapors from the coating are very minimal, however, if you are sensitive to paint fumes or odor, we recommend wearing a paint mask or respirator while applying the coating.

You've come to the right place! In order to properly prepare the floor for Rust-Oleum Concrete and Garage Floor Coating, we recommend wire brushing any of the areas that are down to bare concrete. We also suggest lightly sanding the entire surface with a 60 grit sandpaper to ensure proper adhesion of our paint over the previously coated surface. You'll also want to clean the surface with a degreaser such as dish soap and water and make sure the surface is dry before coating over it. We hope this helps!

How soon can this be applied to a new (outdoor) concrete floor?

Asked by Woody May 20, 2017

Answer

Happy to help! For the best results, we recommend allowing new concrete cure for a minimum of 28 days before coating with Rust-Oleum Concrete Floor Paint.

Can you use over mastic?

Asked by Ks May 9, 2017

Answers

Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Concrete Floor Paint is recommended for use over bare concrete or masonry surfaces or over previously coated floors that are in good, sound condition. For the best results, we recommend removing the mastic to ensure proper adhesion. Rust-Oleum Krud Kutter Adhesive Remover is great for removing most glues and adhesives, carpet seam sealer, and mastic! http://www.homedepot.com/s/krud%2520kutter%2520adhesive%2520remover?NCNI-5

I was quite worried that I would do a poor job & searched Home Depot, Lowe's, Sherwin-Williams, PPG paint & Wal-Mart as well as the internet for the correct product for my garage floor. What stood out in the reviews was that most products on the market had some poor review scores & most of the products are not meant for hot tires. Rust-Oleum High Traffic Concrete & Garage Floor Coating is the product that I was looking for. My garage floor is 28 years old, was originally painted gray but high traffic areas have worn off. In addition, after painting the walls & ceiling, there were multiple spots of primer on the floor (see photos). I cleaned the floor 2 times by washing my walls & ceiling down with dilute bleach (1 : 4 dilution) & then rinsing them twice with warm tap water (to dry faster). I then scraped off any globs of primer with a blade & cleaned areas with a soapy solution and paper towel. I vacuumed the area & then rinsed it down & mopped it again prior to applying Rust-Oleum High Traffic Concrete & Garage Floor Coating. Next I used a 2" Purdy trim brush and applied 1 coat to the entire perimeter out about 2-3 ". I was so pleasantly surprised at how easily the Floor Coating cleaned right off the brush. I thought that I was going to have to sacrifice a Purdy brush, but it cleaned quite well. The container recommends a 9 X 1/2" roller but because my garage floor was relatively smooth, I used a 9 X 3/8" roller & it worked fine. What I like about the Rust-Oleum High Traffic Concrete & Garage Floor Coating is its adhesiveness, coverage, stain blocking ability and quick drying time in humid GA in mid May. I was also concerned about adhesion because the concrete is cool & probably relatively damp due to the high temp & humidity in the garage, but like I said, it did fine. Although it has been down only less than a week, it appears to be there quite well & is not going anywhere. This current project involved a 147 sf garage storage space adjacent to where we park the cars. BTW, a bonus of this product is its applicability & longevity. I used about 1/4 of the container & should have enough for the remainder of my garage with the 2 gal. I purchased on-line at Home Depot. the roller cleaned up just as easily as did the brush. Another bonus to this product is the primer it comes with, so it is a big time saver not having to prime it separately.

This coating was used for a new woodshop in my home. I was expecting a more glossy/shiny finish, however it actual turned out rather dull. No matter as the coating is extremely tough. I have already dropped (on accident) tools from the top of an 8' ladder while installing lighting and the floor did not chip or scuff. Even though it is not what I expected, it is one heck of a tough coating.

Gives a high end look, easy to use and dries quick.
On a 2 car garage I ended up using about 2 gallons. Just finished up and it looks great. I'd suggest getting some of the decorative chips - they really set it off. I'll follow up in a year or so to comment on longevity.

After cleaning the floor with the suggested cleaner and applying the floor coating according to directions giving several days to spare with drying, the first attempt to park my car in the garage resulted in "lifting" the paint to expose bare concrete where the tires rested. I'm not pleased.

Uh-oh, that is not what we like to hear, Dale! Please keep in mind that Rust-Oleum High Traffic Concrete and Garage Floor Coating can be walked on in 24 hours and needs to dry for at least 7 days before exposing it to vehicle traffic. Otherwise, you'll experience hot tire pickup. Rustoleum

This product is MIS-LABELED?! The only place on the entire can, and in all of the information from research online, that indicates this product has epoxy in it, is from the title ONLY. This si an acrylic paint, not any epoxy.

Thank you for the feedback, David! Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield High Traffic Concrete and Garage Floor Coating is part of our EpoxyShield product line, which includes concrete coatings and preparation products. You are right, this product is an acrylic-based paint and is not epoxy-based. Rustoleum

Great paint for patio
I selected this paint because of the Rust-Oleum name and wasn't disappointed. It went on easy with a medium roller and left a smooth finish. Took a little more paint then expected but it was a new pour and had a brushed surface not a finished surface like a garage.
