Happy to help, Hope! After applying Rust-Oleum Home Floor Coating Step 1 Base Coat, allow 6 hours before applying a second base coat. Let the second coat dry for 6 hours, then apply the Step 2 Top Coat. If a second topcoat is desired, apply it after 2 hours, but within 24 hours for proper adhesion. — Rust-Oleum Product Support 15
We can help with this, Hope! We recommend sanding the current finish and ensuring that it is completely clean and dry before reapplying the base coat and then the topcoat after the recommended amount of time. — Rust-Oleum Product Support 15
Thanks for the question. Absolutely, the Rust-Oleum Home Home Floor Coating Kit can be used on a tile backsplash. For the best results on vertical surfaces, apply with a high-quality bristle brush. — Rust-Oleum Product Support 15
Floor paint is designed to be anti slip, placing lacquer will make it extremely slippery.
Beverly, we are happy to clear things up! Rust-Oleum Home Floor Coating is a 2-part system requiring Step 1 followed by Step 2. The Step 2 is Rust-Oleum Home Floor Topcoat. After 6 hours of applying the base coat, the topcoat will need to be applied. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Home-1-qt-Semi-Gloss-Clear-Interior-Floor-Topcoat-358870/312680447 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 10
Happy to clear things up, Julie. Each kit of Rust-Oleum Home Floor Coating covers 75-100 square feet. More porous surfaces will negatively impact the coverage rate. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14
Happy to clear things up. While Rust-Oleum Home Floor Coating can be applied to tile surfaces, it cannont be used in a shower. The exposure to high amounts of moisture and humidity will cause the coating to bubble and peel. The only product we recommend for shower tiles is Rust-Oleum Specialty Tub & Tile. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Specialty-1-Quart-Gloss-White-Tub-and-Tile-Refinishing-Kit-for-Ceramic-and-Porcelain-Surfaces-384165/321743947 -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14
Great question, Tony. While Rust-Oleum Home Floor Coating Step 1 Base Coat can be applied without additional tint, it is a tint base that can be tinted to various colors. This should be tinted in stores and the paint desk of your local Home Depot will be happy to assist you further! -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14
We appreciate your interest! Rust-Oleum Home Floor Coating Step-2 Semi-Gloss Clear Topcoat cannot be used by itself; it must be used as a system. When just the clear is applied directly to the surface, it will cause it to not adhere properly. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 10
