do you need to use a primer on bare wood before using this paint

I want to paint wicker and there is bare wood and want to know if I need to use primer first

I've never heard of someone wanting to spray paint natural wicker but if it's painted wicker, stiff brush any peeling or flaking areas, brush and wipe the residue clean, match the color, spray it and let it dry more than the minimum time if any bare or porous areas.
