Can this product be wiped on with a lint free cloth for my last coat? And what could be added to it to make it wipe on? If so what ratio of mix and what product to use?
Asked by: Dave
Hi Dave, thank you for reaching out! While we do not recommend applying our Pro Finisher Water-Based Polyurethane with a cloth, it may be applied using a universal or lambswool applicator pad. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

if I use two coats do I have to sand in between each coat?

Asked by: Grandmama
We can help you. Sanding between coats of Rust-Oleum Parks Pro Finisher Water-Base Polyurethane for Floors is not required for adhesion as long as the time between coats is less than 6 hours. However, screening or sanding between coats usually produces a smoother better looking finish. A minimum of 3 coats of finish are recommended. Do not apply more than two coats the same day. Sand between coats with 120-150 grit sandpaper or maroon abrasive pad. After sanding, vacuum surface and wipe clean with a dampened lint free cloth to remove all dust before applying the next coat. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

Yes, our Pro Finisher Water-Based Polyurethane may be applied over latex paint that has completely dried. We recommend allowing the paint to dry for 5-7 days prior to applying the polyurethane.

Can i put this over hw floor finished with pro oil based semi poly?

Asked by: Weakendwarrior
Yes! Rust-Oleum Parks Pro Finisher Polyurethane for Floors may be applied over an existing finish. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of wax, grease, oil, shellac, lacquer, mildew, and polishes. Once the surface is clean, sand and remove sanding residue before applying Pro Finisher.

Oil based stain, waited 72 hours after application of stain. ( The only down side I have found to this product.) Used nylon brush to cut in edges and a high quality (purdy) 3/8" roller. Brushed all the stairs. No brush marks anywhere. Roller finish is smooth as glass. First day applied 2 coats, did not sand between coats. Second day sanded floor with a pole sander and 180 grit screens. Micro fiber dust mop (dry) and then tack cloth. Applied 2 additional coats without sanding in between. Note- After 1st coat there were visible lap marks where I sectioned the room and where I stopped at the doorways. (This was caused by starting and stopping, not by leaving thick heavy edges!). I was sick at first but decided to push on. The marks began to disappear as additional coats were applied and are no longer visible. I did change my technique on coats 2-4. I rolled wall to wall where the first coat I was not doing that. Rolled cross grain against some walls and in the closets. You can not see it.... Will be using this on the 1st floor later this summer.

Sanded with 120 grit sanding sponge between coats. Product looks milky but dries clear. You have to work rather fast or it will start to dry and you will pick up boogers from the drying edges. Clean up was a snap. Came off well with water.

It dries fast and produces a very durable film finish that is very clear. I like the water clean up and the lack of fumes. One does have to put it on, make sure the surface is well covered and then leave it alone to dry.
