Questions & Answers

Anybody use the primer without painting?

I like the weathered look of my deck where I covered it with just the primer and I would like to leave it like that. Is there any reason not to?
Asked by: Hank
Not if you want to walk on it. It is quite slippery in wet conditions

where this dries clear could I use on metal shed to cover a painting?

where this dries clear could I use on metal shed to cover a painting?
Asked by: JJ
I believe that might work. Just make sure it is on a wall and not somewhere you have to walk. It is quite slippery to walk on all by itself.

Asked by: Dorzak
Yes, our Restore Deck Start Wood Primer may be applied to a plywood porch or deck prior to topcoating with a solid color deck paint or stain, such as our Restore 4x Deck Coat: http://www.homedepot.com/c/SPC_BRD_PA_Rustoleum_Restore

Would my deck be able to use if we previously painted with regular white paint & is now chipping off?

Asked by: NewYorkerDYI
I don't know. I scrape off any loose or peeling paint which is on the surface. I would think you could if you get the loose off first.
