Question Prep Instructions over paint
A contractor scraped, cleaned and washed it before applying 1-part epoxy. Wanted to improve the look and hardness. Both the literature and Rust-O-Leum on-line FAQ's said it would be fine if first primed, which I did before applying the first of two coats of Rocksolid. First application was fine. The hardness is amazing, but after 12 hours it has bubbled. To recoat with paint chips, directions are to apply within 7 days. First, bubbles have to be fixed. I've called Product Support, but they don't answer the phone.

Thank you for reaching out, Peter! When using Rust-Oleum RockSolid Garage Floor Coating with the Rust-Oleum Concrete and Garage Recoat Primer, it is essential that you are following the listed recoat times for the primer. If wanting to recoat the surface as it is now, you can sand the surface smooth and wipe it down with acetone prior to recoating. If you sand the whole surface with 60/80 grit sandpaper and wipe it down with acetone, you can recoat anytime! For further assistance, please give us a call at (888) 683-5667. We are here Monday through Friday from 8AM-5PM CST except for on federal holidays. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Paint peels off due to hot tire
I'm very disappointed with this product. I did everything in accordance with instructions. I waited for 7 days before I parked my car in the garage after the paint. It came off the very first day. And, it keeps peeling off ever since. Is there a solution available? Is there a touchup kit?

The video’s on how to apply this product are straight forward. If you do not put the effort into the prep work then you will probably be one of the people leaving a comment about how you had issues. This is just like doing body work and painting on a car but it’s a floor, so it’s even easier. Get the spike shoes because if you put it on to thick, it will off gas and you will come back to small bubbles.

Waited 10 days before moving back in. Scratched it while moving a box across the floor. Went on uneven, differences in color pigmentation from one package to the next. Stay with the epoxy. This stuff is garbage. Put the Apoxsee on my trailer floor two years ago and is still holding up just great!
I know, we are sorry please blah blah blah call this number and we will make it right with you sir. I tried that before I applied it, good luck getting through to somebody!

Great glossy coat. Make sure you apply it pretty thick, I didn't in a couple of spots and it doesn't look as glossy in those areas. Also if you are going to do a larger area and use the flakes, I highly suggest using the spike shoe slip- on, which allows you to walk on the wet epoxy and apply the flacks more consistently. Good luck

Different color areas and product doesn’t cover footage stated
I ended up purchasing the Rock Solid 2.5 car garage kits we prepared our 2 car garage floor as directed. Let dry for 24hrs before applying the product. We followed all directions and mixed the product as directed, used a timer to make sure we mixed enough. 1/3 of the way through the garage we realize we would need more product. I ran to The Home Depot 15mins away while my husband continued to apply the product. I purchased a 1car Garage kit. We used all 3 bags of mix. We let dry for 48hrs. There are several areas that are a lot darker colors. We have used the epoxy coating on other floors in our previous home and never had an issue. This product was more expensive. RockSolid is not a product I will be recommend to anyone. We had our realtor ask how it turned out and we have to be honest.

Oh no, this is not what we like to hear. Rust-Oleum RockSolid Polycuramine Garage Floor Coating is held to a very high color standard, when the pouches are mixed in the same manner the color typically matches perfectly. Each 2.5 Car RockSolid Kit covers up to 450-500 square feet. Concrete is a porous substrate with porosity varying from floor to floor. The more porous the concrete means more of whatever is being applied to the concrete will absorb and bond with the concrete. One year in, and not very impressed.
I had a new garage built about 18 months ago and decided I was going to use this product plus the clear coat due to the value and relatively good reviews. Concrete was allowed to cure and I completed the prep necessary (diamond grind concrete, plus acid etching). After thoroughly cleaning the floor and allowing it to dry, I picked a nice cool day to start putting the coating down.
First issue: I immediately noticed that the coating was starting to bubble, and back rolling wasn't helping much. I ended up having A LOT of bubbles throughout the floor.
Second issue: This coating does not seem to be very durable or bond to, what I believe is properly prepared concrete well. I use my garage for working on cars occasionally, and any dropped socket or bolt chip the coating. The coating also scratches easily. Dragging a plastic tote or storage bin across the floor has left marks in the coating.
Overall, if i had to do it again, I would probably use a different product. Or at least use a primer to help prevent the bubbling issue, maybe double up on the clear coat or use an alternate clear coat that is more durable.

That is not what we like to hear, Stan! Bubbles developing in the coating can be caused by concrete outgassing, as air is expelled from the concrete as it warms up. To prevent this from occurring, we recommend applying the first coat early in the morning, or later in the evening when the concrete will remain cool. Please give us a call at 888-683-5667, we want to get to the bottom of this and make things right! - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

Bubbles after first drive
I would have given this product 5 stars but it has started to bubble where the tires have been. I would have given it 1 star but the product (so far) looks good everywhere else. We did EVERYTHING correctly. We patched, rented a floor sander, etched, cleaned, vacuumed, and primed. Application was OK and you can get the hang of it quickly. We waited a few days before walking on it and did not drive on it for 9 days! Even then we only pulled the car in from the driveway. We pulled the car out and now see bubbles where the tires were. We spent a lot of money (sander rental, primer and product) which would have been fine if it lasted. You can see the bubbles in the photo and I am sure that shortly these will become voids. At this point we are disappointed. I will update this one way or the other so others can learn.

If you follow instructions you’ll be ok. I needed a 2.5 car kit and 1 car kit for 550 square foot. I thinned it out in some spots and can see a tad bit of a color difference. My advice is buy extra and extra chips. Don’t thin it out!! I did 1 coat of clear after it was done since I threw down extra chips
