Answer This Question

A:  Happy to help, Kenneth! To ensure proper performance and drying, it is essential that Rust-Oleum RockSolid Garage Floor Coating is mixed at the proper ratio. If wanting to mix half the kit, you would want to ensure that the same ratio is kept and that each part is divided evenly. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

    Answer This Question

A:  Happy to clear things up. Rust-Oleum RockSolid Garage Floor Coating can't be applied directly underneath the wood stove as it would not be able to hold up well to the high heat. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

Q:Can you do a section at a time

      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out, James! Since Rust-Oleum RockSolid Garage Floor Coating is a two-part coating, it does have a limited pot life once mixed. This product has a pot life of 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the temperature and humidity. So while this can be applied in sections, you will need a separate pouch for each section. Each pouch has a recommended coverage of 200-250 square feet. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

          Great Product
We have a 3 car garage , and didn’t have to even open the second box. We bought a 2.5 car garage kit plus a one car garage kit and will need to return the one car kit. Went on smooth, super easy to use, prepping was the longest part. We used the cleaner and etch in one solution and it worked perfect.

Save yourself money and time by avoiding this product
I ended up purchasing the Rock Solid 2.5 car garage kits we prepared our 2 car garage floor as directed. Let dry for 24hrs before applying the product. We followed all directions and mixed the product as directed, used a timer to make sure we mixed enough. 1/3 of the way through the garage we realize we would need more product. I ran to The Home Depot 15mins away while my husband continued to apply the product. I purchased a 1car Garage kit. We used all 3 bags of mix. We let dry for 48hrs. There are several areas that are a lot darker colors. We have used the epoxy coating on other floors in our previous home and never had an issue. This product was more expensive. RockSolid is not a product I will be recommend to anyone. We had our realtor ask how it turned out and we have to be honest.

Oh no, this is not what we like to hear. Rust-Oleum RockSolid Polycuramine Garage Floor Coating is held to a very high color standard, when the pouches are mixed in the same manner the color typically matches perfectly. Each 2.5 Car RockSolid Kit covers up to 450-500 square feet. Concrete is a porous substrate with porosity varying from floor to floor. The more porous the concrete means more of whatever is being applied to the concrete will absorb and bond with the concrete. Give us a call at 888-683-5667 so we can hear more about your application and work to make things right.

              Awesome finished result
I had my garage floor painted a year ago and it was peeling all over the place. I decided to really do it how i wanted it and got prices for epoxy and labor of $2,500. I decided to look into this Rustoleum Rock Solid product. I called their Customer service line 4-5 times with technical questions and they were extremely helpful. I power washed as much loose paint off as i could and then gave it a quick 80 grit scuffing (20 mins worth) then i applied Rustoleum's ReCoat Primer for concrete floors and that was key, it made the perfect surface for the Rock Solid project to come. I have a 2 car garage so i bought the 2.5 car garage kit. It was the perfect amount to coat the floor. The installation instructions were very easy (I also watched some you tube videos) The products spreads very well and does dry pretty quick. i gave it about 15 hours before we loaded stuff back in just to be on the safe side. 1 waited 48 hours before bringing car back in, again, playing it safe. The garage floor looks amazing, a great shine accented by the paint chips. all in all i saved about $2,000 bucks doing it myself and this product is 20x stronger than epoxy. I highly recommend it

Looks Awesome (requires allot of product!)
Very happy with the results but its not cheap as you will need to apply two coats (should be written on the instructions). Prepping is everything, tons of info out there go and do you research. I rented a 4k pressure washer, cement buffer and etched 2x. Its all about prepping your cement. 4 boxes for the first coat (had to stretch the product to make it) 4 boxes to make it look uniform and shinny The alternative is paying around 4/5k CAD for a pro to do it. Very happy with the result, but I put allot of time/money in this!

This is a great product but beware if you're going down on a floor that is bare concrete there's not enough material in the package so buy extra. Also out of two packages the color didn't match exactly So be sure to mix part B's before you make a mistake like I did. After buying three kits and spending over $600, my garage floor looks great.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Scot! The application method and the condition of the floor can affect the coverage rate of Rust-Oleum RockSolid Garage Floor. Older or more porous surfaces will soak up more of the coating. If needing further assistance or need us to look into this further, please give us a call at 888-683-5667.

Works.... But no amount of prep will make it look like the pictures.
Hi All. First, forget the stated Sq/Ft coverage on the box. That is only achievable with a completely level and polished concrete floor Tips - *Double the amount you think you need. Besides, thick pour looks better *Borrow an electric pressure washer and an electric leaf blower! * Wash, rinse, degrease, rinse, etch, rinse, rinse! *Patch and grind your floor as smooth as you can. Scrape off random things with a putty knife as you find them while you are on your hands and knees filling cracks. * Wash again, rinse, etch again, let dry 2 days, Vac it twice and, Swiffer it 2x, *Give yourself a week to do tall this. Get ready for the pour and start in the morning around 10AM after a hardy breakfast. *Prep yourself, but have another person helping during the pour. You may be able to do a 1 car garage alone, but never a 2 car garage before the stuff starts to set, *Do the pour on a cloudy 70 degree day with 50% humidity or less. WAIT FOR THAT DAY! *Work from the far wall and slowly progress out towards the garage door *Close the garage door but leave a gap of 2 inches. *Block that gap with some tape or a 2x4 to keep out mice or moths/insects that might want to come inside while it is drying *End the coating at the midline of the garage door seal *Apply blue tape on the floor to gauge your amount. I had 4 bags and divided my floor into 4 slices from the far wall to the door. My wife and I each painted one side of the slice. I had left, she had right. We met in the middle and once finished up the to blue tape we stopped, spread the chips, put the rollers behind us, peeled up the tape and started mixing the next bag. *Do not pour right from the bag as the instructions suggest. Use a disposable pail, bucket, or storage container. This will allow you to mix well with a paint stick after massaging the bag, and or mix in anti slip texture and also allow you to easily paint the edges with brush before switching to the roller on the floor. It will also allow you to pour the ribbons on the floor with great accuracy. *Finally, keep the sections to a 4-5 feet deep working area. If you have a 6 foot roller pole you'll be surprised at how hard it is to angle out the pressure required to spread this cake batter. My back felt like jello because my blue tape sections were 6 feet apart. That's a 45 degree angle with a substantial "lean-over". It was awful on the lower back, we were both dying by the end. *Finally, plan and execute in your mind, simulate everything prior to doing the pour, do a dry run and discuss who does what during the pour. We realized we would need rubber gloves + extra gloves, a large trash box (not bag) that we could easily toss gloves and used rollers in without having to hold open a floppy hefty sack. wear old disposable clothes and shoes because it will get on you and whatever you are wearing may need to be tossed. Use a fertilizer spreader for the chips because it spreads even and faster that trying to toss them by hand. RESULTS: Most garage floors have a texture between a sidewalk and a travertine tile. The advertised coverage is for a surface akin to granite countertops. Additionally this product will pool in the valleys and drain from the peaks. So unless you rent on of those huge floor polish machines that grind your garage to a slurry flatness.... Double the recommended amount. My garage is 513 Sq/Ft. We used 2 double garage boxes and had about a 1/2 cup left over. That almost $1 a Square Foot..... Pricey. The end result wasn't perfect because even though my prep was over the top, I gave it "angle grinder effort" not "renting rotating slab polisher effort". I filled my cracks and divots with Rustoluem epoxy patch and sanded it smooth. The end result, while not perfect was OK. Would I have done it differently if I knew I was spending $520 for what I ended up with..... Yeah, maybe, but I'm happy with what I have and proud of what e accomplished. I'm writing this to warn others that do not have a week of available time nor the desire to physically destroy themselves for a upgraded garage floor to avoid using this and maybe hire a professional.

We need to know more to get to the bottom of this! Rust-Oleum RockSolid Polycuramine Garage Floor Coatings are held to a very hard color standard. Properly mixing the easy burst pouch is critical to ensure uniform color. Thoroughly mix the material by shaking the pouch back and forth and squeezing the edges and corners for 2-3 minutes. Please give us a call at 888-683-5667 so we can hear more about your application and work to make things right.

My garage looks great. Product is easy to use with very little amount of not included items. You only need a roller handle and screw in broom handle or telescoping pole. I also used the clear coat topping to add to the thickness and protect the bottom layer.

Beyond disappointed and frustrated with this product!!! I was so happy to finally replace our old Epoxy Shield that lasted quite a long time. It was time to redo it. I bought 2 of the 1 car garage boxes just in case. I went ahead and prepped the floor by degreasing it and sanding it with 120 grit sand paper. The product applied fine for the first 20 mins, but after about the 25 min mark, the bag started getting hot. It then started to clump up real fast. I went thru just half the bag and it dried up. So I couldn't finish my garage. Very disappointed because now I will have to buy another box just to finish the other half. I probably got a bad batch but I cannot return it to HD because I bought it a month ago with a gift card and cash. Didn't bother to save the receipt because this stuff shouldn't happen. I hope really hope Rustoleum can read this because the Epoxyshield I applied years ago was a piece of cake going on and I am a repeat customer. Don't know about now but I am forced to buy another box because of this bad batch.

This is not what we like to hear Rod! Rust-Oleum RockSolid Polycuramine Garage Floor Coating is a two part coating that once activated (the pouch burst and product mixed) has a limited amount of time to apply before the pot life expires and it begins to heat and solidify. Hot temperatures will shorten the normal 45 minute to 1 hour pot life that begins at mixing. We want to hear more about your experience, please call us at 888-683-5667 so we can try and make things right.
