Can I use this on fabrics?
Happy to help. While Rust-Oleum Chalked Ultra Matte Spray Paint provides a smooth chalky finish to a variety of surfaces, it can not be applied to fabrics. Does it yellow on white paint?
No

Why did this paint stick to the walls but not the wood base of my shelf, it can be rubbed off with a damp towel?
If the walls were primed or you went over a different paint that could be why it adheres to the wall better than the shelf. I have used this paint in my bathroom on shelves and it adheres fine, but I put a coat of poly to seal it since it is a bathroom.

Fyi, the wood base was covered in construction dust which I neglected to clean off before spray painting, I think that was what was rubbing off was the spray painted dust! I should have cleaned the shelf before painting.
How does this work on glass? I'm want to spray 120 mason jars. How many cans would you recommend?

A standard, 16 oz mason jar has an outside surface area of approximately 0.5333 square feet, so 120 mason jars would equal 64 ft². Each spray can will cover 12 ft², so a minimum of 6 cans would be needed to coat the outside surfaces of these jars. We recommend purchasing a couple of additional spray cans to ensure you will have enough, as some paint will be lost when painting smaller objects. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2
Can this be used on fabric?
