The Rust-Oleum Specialty 12 oz. High Heat Aerosol Paint works well on grills, wood-burning stoves, engines and other metal items. It comes in a variety of colors and is great for use in temperatures up to 1,200 degrees fahrenheit. The paint is rust and corrosion resistant for durability.

A:  Happy to help! Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat Spray Paint can be heat cured after 1 hour of application. If waiting a few days to heat the surface, make sure to protect it from scratching or dings, as it may damage the finish before curing.     Q:I have some cast iron floor drains with a little rust on them. There isn?t any loose rust. Can I paint right over top of it with this without sanding?

    A:  Thanks for reaching out, Darin. Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat Paint is designed for application to high heat surfaces such as the exterior of barbecue grills and wood burning stove. This paint required heat curing, raising the temperature to 450°F for 1 hour to dry properly.           Nice Paint To Refurbish Outdoor Grills!
          This paint is good so far when refurbishing my outdoor grill and firepit. I used my grill once to burn some limbs that fell after a storm and the factory paint peeled and cracked throughout the grill. So I looked around to find some paint to preserve the fire pit itself. This worked well so far!

            Not bad just Flat Black
            Nothing wrong with this paint, i bought it to re-paint the outside of a Pizza Oven, this "paint" is rated for high heat, however at $7 can i found my $2.49 can Regular Flat Black to be the exact same product, They had another Gloss Black next to this one for $12 can, glad i did, read below. $2.49 can fine, Buy regular flat black on HD bottom shelf, use extra money for hot dogs on the way out. P.S. the hot dogs don't seem smaller than the Jumbo dogs. Follow me for more recipes.

            Our Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat Spray is a modified silicone resin, and while it may appear similar to regular spray paint, it is very different. This coating must be heated above 450°F for one hour to fully cure, after which it will tolerate surface temperatures up to 1,200°F. Our Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel will tolerate surface temperatures up to 200°F for comparison. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2 Rustoleum

              We used this to paint a brass fireplace door from the 1990's and make it look more modern. The paint covered the brass without any priming or other prep work and it looks great! We like the matte black finish. We haven't had a fire yet to be able to judge heat resistance, it's a gas fireplace.

                Sprays horribly. Not heat resistant
                This paint sprays like powder. I sprayed it at around 70 degrees and 30% humidity. It dried for 3 hours. I gently heated it to cure it. I put an oven thermometer on the metal and slowly went up to 350. The paint was destroyed by the heat.
