What if I painted it with some semi-gloss, high heat resistant paint like what goes on BBQs? So. Went on easily. Seems to stick all over even though I tried to scuff up the surface--lots of luck there. Got as much baked-on grease off as I could manage. Now, don't need new oven. Much better. Hint: remove the doors on the oven so you can take them outside to paint. Just open them part way to the lock position and pull out of the hinges. Don't jump and drop the door when the hinge snaps back in. --

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fire Pit Restore I've used the flat black high heat paint before on a BBQ pit and it worked well. Since this fire pit was gonna be on the patio I thought I'd give it a pop with the semi-gloss sheen and wow am I glad I did. This pit looks better than it did brand new. The paint used by the factory was terrible at rust prevention so the "rust stop" formula was a great benefit. It simply looks amazing now. You won't be disappointed if you go this route. It made the hours of sanding and wire brushing well worth the effort. Im supremely impressed.

I sanded the covers and base then apply the Rust-Oleum heat paint. Covers extremely well and dries fairly quickly. Has a nice Sheen to the finish. Definitely recommend.
