Clean

Wash surface with soap and water to remove all debris and allow to dry.

Prep

Prime

I just had a metal mailbox painted with a scenery and would like to protect it from the outdoor elements and fading. Will this protect it? Will it make the white parts yellow over time?

If applying Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel Clear Spray over a new coating, you will want to ensure that you are following any listed recoat times for the previous coating. If the coating has fully cured, then we do recommend lightly sanding to create a surface profile, particularly if the finish is smooth, hard, or glossy. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Can I use this to protect a vinyl sign hanging outdoors or resin?

We wish we could recommend Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Crystal Clear Enamel for your application. We do not have any clear coat's that we can recommend for a vinyl surface. The product will peel and crack.
