Product Overview

RUTLAND Furnace Cement is premixed and ready to use, making it one of the easiest cements to apply. Use this smooth consistency cement to bond and seal metal to metal or metal to masonry joints less than 1/8″. Fix a crack, seal the collar to the top of a wood stove, or seal between firebricks and prefabricated fireplace. Use this cement anywhere a quality high-temperature adhesive is required for furnaces, firebrick repair, filling gaps, sealing joints, or gluing ceramic logs. Adheres to metal, stone, and firebricks, creating a permanent smoke- and gas-tight seal.
  • Top choice for small repairs - fix furnaces, firebricks and minor cracks
  • Requires heat to cure; may be painted once cured (dries black)
  • For indoor use only
  • Rated to withstand up to 2000°F (1090°C)

Disappointed
After it hardened it became brittle and cracked and shortly thereafter pieces started falling off. This all occurred within 4 days after application.

I plan to replace it fairly soon, but there was a huge gap between the exhaust flue and the wall where it goes out. (Like an inch wide gap...) I used this to fill the gap... I feel safer from exhaust fumes coming back in, and also I sealed up a big air leak that was letting cold air into my basement...
