I bought this a few months ago, loved it. Today I went to mow my lawn with a fully charged battery and it stalled a few times (that's a first). After moving only a small area it stopped running and will not start. The batter is not old, it came with the mower. Any idea what could be wrong and how to fix?

I carry mower up 5 steps and store in my mud room. It does the job just fine, grass was 10" - 12" tall only a few spots where it had problems. Did have to go over few spots twice. I have mowed since with grass at 4 1/2" and no problems! Mower was hard to start until I figured out that I had to "feather" handle while pushing start button. Charge doesn't last very long, less than 1/2 hour, so glad my lawn not very big. Mower does mulch but using bag to collect clippings for compost, bag is very small but very easy to use. Have had mower for couple of weeks. It does everything I need it to with out loud noise and I don't have to mess with gas or a cord.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement for trimming mower I will admit that I bought this mower as a replacement for a gas mower that I actually killed with under use. I have a tractor and I only need a push mower to get into some areas that the tractor will not fit. This little mower fits into all the tight spots so well I hardly need to trim. It is reasonably quiet, easy to start and has never let me down. I like this mower so much I will normally mow my entire front yard and a small section of back yard with it. I have the 4Ah battery and can normally mow for a little over a half hour and have enough power left to blow off the sidewalk. As for area, I can mow about 6,400 square feet in Spring and 8,000 to 10,000 Square feet by late summer as I get more in shape. I find that mowing faster than a brisk walk decreases the quality of the cut. At the end of the season this mower easily folds up and stores with the tractor while the Snowblower is in "ready" position in the lawn shed, this mower is far easier to store than any gas mower I have ever owned. I honestly bought this mower thinking I was only going to use it in the places too small for the tractor and too big for the string trimmer, lack of a carburetor helped as well, but I genuinely like it and enjoy using it. This mower does a good job and while I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, it works better than expected for me. I am finishing up my second season with this mower and all I ever have to do to it is replace the blade in spring, blow it off with the leaf blower and drop the battery in the charger after each use. The only repair I've made was to replace the handle padding, which eventually tore and became unusable. I wrapped the metal bar with comfortable cork bicycle handle tape which improved grip and made the mower even better. Aside from that, the only maintenance I do is an occasional replacement or sharpening of the blade. Far less than the gas mowers I owned previously. Amazingly I've seen zero degradation of the batteries. Since I also bought a Ryobi trimmer, I have three batteries and I rotate them to keep usage even. Things I love about it: super light weight and easy to pick up with the molded handle. No obnoxious noise or air pollution, and since we have solar panels that cover 110% of our electrical demand, our mower is powered by the sun. Easy blade removal for replacement or sharpening. No difficult starts, carb flooding, and all the other headaches that come with a gas mower. Plastic construction has meant zero corrosion issues like I experienced on my last mower. That said, this isn't a traditional mower and there are concessions. The deck and blade are smaller than a traditional mower, so that means more passes to accomplish the same task. While it has plenty of torque for 99% of my mowing, the one time a year I need to cut the grass short the mower will stall a number of times unless I increase my overlap, usually so only half the deck is cutting. With a smaller deck comes a smaller bag, which means more frequent stops to empty it. Those three concessions have been worthwhile to gain all the advantages, and after 4 years I'm very happy with this purchase.

We recently purchased this mower for our new house that sits on about 1/3 to 1/2 acre. We moved from an apartment where you had nothing for outside lawn/landscaping. All of our purchases have come only after a lot of research. The first time we used it we did run the battery down before completing however it was extra tall (had not been cut in a month since we moved in), wet from a recent rain and we'd forgotten to take the mulch plug out so it was clogging. The test after though, in normal conditions with the path to the bag open it has worked great. It is so light and when you squeeze the trigger it is instantly on at full-power. We bought it with the trimmer in order to have a pair interchangeable batteries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very light weight and powerful Very light weight and easy to use. Assembly takes about 5 minutes as all you need to do is put the upper part of the handles on and they go on quite easy, just screw into place. The battery took about 2 hours to reach its full charge from when I unpacked it which I believe is normal. I was quite surprised by the amount of power the mower had as being battery driven I did not expect that much. I used to mulch some of the leaves that we on the yard from winter and it picked them up very good and mulched them into very small pieces so you can cover a lot of area in your yard. Really impressed with how much power it has and being so light weight.

So, if things go downhill in the coming months, I'll write a another, updated review. Having said that, I LOVE this mower. I'm a 55-yr-old woman. It took me about 5 minutes to assemble (no screws, screwdrivers, etc, needed-- it's all at your fingertips). I charged the battery for many hours, attached it (also easy) and the thing was up and running. One push of a button and it took me no time at all to mow my front and back yard. There was still about 70% of the battery left. It's lightweight and since the handle folds down, it fits into a very small space (which is all I have since I don't have a garage-- only a small, outside, storage closet). I'm extremely happy with the purchase. I actually loved doing the yard with this mower!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent little backup I bought this because I had my rider in the shop. I needed something to get me by until I got my rider back. My first thought was that it would be more of just an edger, hard to reach mower. I ended up doing almost my whole yard! My yard is a little over a half acre. Impressed by the power and cut. I already had 3 batteries because I own a blower, hedge trimmer, and weed eater. Good purchase! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than I expected I really got tired of taking longer to maintain my mower than I did mowing the lawn. This mower is fantastic. I bring it out and it works. Very little maintenance. No changing oil and keeping gas cans in the garage. I am very grateful to RYOBI that they are making quality products that are affordable and last. I've used RYOBI products for years and I don't plan on stopping. Thanks RYOBI! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
