Questions & Answers

Are there any plans to make this saw in a 40 volt version

Asked by: EBJ
If you just round up the way Dewalt does on all their tools this already is 40V. No, seriously...2 18V batteries in series produces 36 nominal volts. This would translate to “40V Max” if you go by maximum voltage upon full charge under no load conditions, the way certain competitors do on their “20V Max” and pretty much everyone does on their “12V” tools (which are actually 10.8V nominal).

Is it ok to use this to cut small bricks (use on houses) and small small veneer stones? If so, what is the recommended blade?
Asked by: Tooks
My Best Answer is Not Really. I did use a 12" Sliding Miter saw once to cut a bunch of patio pavers for a patio job I had. I did find a 12" diamond blade for it and It did cut the pavers but it was VERY dusty and I have the feeling that it wasnt very good for my 12" Saw. Bricks and pavers are best cut with either a wet/tile style saw (that has the capabilty), or a Concrete saw (Partner Saw). A wet saw will cut much cleaner, easier and faster than this. However - If you could find a 10" diamond blade (Im not sure If one is available), you could use this saw for a very small job if you had to- But I wouldnt expect much.

Hi, Do you need two batteries to operate this saw or just one will do?
Asked by: Tooks
Two One+ batteries are required to operate the miter saw. One battery will not activate the saw..

Asked by: vjon1068
Yes, a 40T blade is included. I would consider it a utility class blade. A high quality 60T would be recommended for trim work.

I am a pro contractor and I am invested in the One+ line. Ryobi's price point allows me to have a tool for every job type. Ryobi isnt some cheap brand. They have higher priced tools now - with quality to back it up. This Saw is a Boss with a new Diablo blade- Unboxed it and put it to work right away - Just finished up a custom woodworking job building support pillars for porch overhangs in a development project. Cut 4x4's, 5 1/4" molding, 1x8's - All beveled 45- left and right - 150+ cuts and still 3 bars left on 2 -P108 batteries. Perfectly true/square right out of the box. Ryobi is my choice. I have personally converted 4 crews to the One+ Line already this year. Ryobi - Thank you for bringing the right tools to the game. +++FYI Dont leave the batteries in the saw - I did overnight in my truck - and they were drained in the morning. No big deal. Just remember to remove them when your done (which is safer if kids are around anyway).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All the torque and power needed for home use! A pair of the 4 amp hour batteries lasted me about 5 or 6 hours while doing a fair number of cuts. The week before I worked for about 9 hours and had to replace the batteries 3/4 the way through. Don't know the number of cuts but 2 sets would outlast anything I might ever do in a day. 800? Well if I were to guess at 2*6 pressure treated and allot of decking I'd say 3 or 4 hundred per set but that is still quite a lot. I have all One+ so have all the battery power needed to run everything for a 9-12 hour day since they interchange with all the power tools.

It was extremely underpowered even with 2 batteries I did a few test cuts with fully charged 4 amp hour batteries. Overnight the saw discharged the batteries and I couldn't work on my project the next day. It takes 2 hours to charge the twin 4 amp hour batteries

I also own the 7-1/4” one plus miter saw, and the brushless motor in this saw is by far superior to the brushed motor saw. The safety switch is well designed and does not feel unnatural like some saws I have used. I would reccomend this saw to my friends.
