A: Hi Pete. This rug pile is made from 100% sea grass and has a felt backing. Thank you for your inquiry!
A: Thank you for your question. We recommend to always follow the care instructions on the back label of your rug. You may also check out our helpful tips on how to clean a rug here at http://safavieh.com/rug-care-and-cleaning and watch the video as well. It is recommended that only a professional rug cleaner should undertake a complete overall cleaning and your rug should be professionally cleaned only if it’s a deep stain. Cleaning companies use a special shampoo that goes into the fibers. Please reach out to other professional rug cleaning companies nearest you, and ask questions. You want to give them as much information about your rug as possible such as the fiber content, backing, and overall size of your rug. All this information is on the back label of you rug, and remember be specific.
A: Hi Abby. No, this rug is not machine washable and we would advise against using any type of liquid cleaner on it. Thank you for your inquiry.
A: Hi Daisy. While this rug is not meant for outdoors, it can be used only if it does not come into contact with water. Generally speaking, most outdoor rugs are meant for so because they are water resistant in which case this rug is not. If your lanai is covered, it shouldn't pose as a problem but you should understand that water can easily damage the foundation and fibers of the rug and proceed with that risk. Thank you for your inquiry.
