Make sure the stucco is cleaned first by power washing Or using water and a scrub brush to remove dirt and “ chalk”. You need to apply the bonding agent over a painted surface but a finish stucco coat can be applied over the existing stucco without applying a bonding agent

(What's this)
Sakrete bonder and fortifier is the same milk like consistency as other adhesive polymers that are used to bond old and new concrete. You paint the bonder on the old concrete especially in the crack you created with an angle grinder. Then I like to use hydraulic cement and instead of mixing it with all water mix part with the bonder. This makes the cement smoother and makes it adhere better.

(What's this)
Better concrete! Straight portland concrete is great stuff. Strong in bulk yet economical. But fresh concrete does not stick well to old concrete. And thin concrete can be weak. Concrete "fortifiers" make concrete better. This one, a latex copolymer, can be used either as a pre-treat before placing new concrete over old for better adhesion; or as part of the water in new concrete to make it stronger, smoother, and more water resistant. The portland cement sticks the stones together, the polymer sticks the cement to itself and the stones better. While too expensive to use on large projects, I have often been glad to have concrete fortifier for small work where improved workability and greater final strength of concrete and bond are most important.
