Answer This Question

A:  Add 2.5 qts. of clean potable water or enough to achieve a workable mix. Only add additional water if needed but AVOID A SOUPY MIX. Excess water reduces strength and durability and can cause cracking, dusting or scaling

A:  Pete. We don't recommend the High Strength Concrete to be poured less than 2" inches in depth. 10' x 10' x 2" will take approximately 38/60lb. bags of concrete.

          American Strong
I purchased 3 each 60lb bags and 1 each 80 pound bag of high strength concrete for the installation of my new flagpole base for my 20 foot flagpole. Easy to mix and easy to pour. The hole was 18inches deep and 18 inches wide with a bag of pea pebbles in the base of the hole. Very easy to work with and confident it won't crack or split with the sway of the flagpole in the wind.

            Works like it should
Just finished off a pallet for a small slab works just like the stuff that comes out of the cement truck. For the people who got a bad finish they just don't really know what they are doing. You pour the slab strike it off level then wait for all the bleed water to evaporate then you can bull float/fresno the surface. You should really be using a mixer vs hand mixing.

              Concrete
I have used this for a few projects . I bought a concrete mixer so I could tackle the projects. The 1st project was a footing for an aluminum patio screen that was 12 in wide by 8 in deep and 30 feet long. It took 58 bags and just under 5 hours. The 2nd project was a structural wall footing and was 20 in wide by 16 in deep by 20 feet. That took 90 bags to complete and a little more than 6 hours. The concrete mixed fine in both cases, 2 separate deliveries.

                Not For Finished Work
I bought this to pour cement equipment pads and a step for a shed. There is just way too much rock in this mixture. It won't allow for the finished look you'd expect. Don't use it for anything that you want to look good. When I contacted the company that makes it, they said it's up to the finisher to make it look good. So I got a pro and he said the same thing. Too much gravel in the mixture. It allows for pockets on the sides and you can just see all the stones on the surface.
