I needed this wax to protect a guitar finger board while using super glue. It acts as a perfect barrier between the glue and the wood. Even if the glue cures you can gently scrape it off the wax layer with no problems. The fines can be a bit overwhelming though so use a fan to keep the air moving.

this is just about the only polish I use and it's the only polish I use on my table saw. Johnson Paste Wax not only keeps my cast iron table saw top super slick, it prevents rust and doesn't leave any residue on my projects as I am working on the saw. One can can last almost 2 years for me and that includes polishing several cast iron and aluminum work surfaces in my wood shop, but also furniture In the house. it's one of the best values on the market today. i will recommend it to anyone and I'm a life long customer.

Good product, great value
I bought this to wax my spinning wheel. It came in a bigger tin than I thought and it will definitely last for a long time. The wax has a strong gasoline-like smell so I would advise to use it outside. It does dissipate after a few hours, though. The wax is best used with warm, gloved hands to help melt the wax and to keep it from sticking to your hands afterward. Take it from me, you don't wanna use this bare handed.
As for the shine it brings, it's very subtle but still noticeable on furniture. Feel free to bring on the elbow grease when buffing out the wax. It can be a pain but it leaves you with a sense of accomplishment in the end. I don't know how well it protects but I don't expose my wheel to the elements anyway.

Power Tool Protection!
This product has a lot of uses. In my case, I use this wax to protect the tabletop of my table saw, bandsaw, and other metallic tool surfaces from rust and corrosion. Apply it just like traditional paste car wax -- apply a thin layer, than buff off. On table saws, it allows the workpiece to glide across the surface while providing a durable layer of protection that won't transfer to the wood. Sometimes the old school solution is still the best!
