SEAFLO 12-Volt General Purpose 5.5 GPM Automatic-Demand Utility Pump. This general purpose pump can be used for a wide variety of applications. It is designed for Agricultural Spraying, Transferring Liquid Fertilizers, Herbicides, or Pesticides, Fluid Transfer, RV Water Supply, Boat Water Supply, Salt Water Washdown, Remote Cabin Water Supply, Industrial Applications, Draining Water Heaters, Draining Aquariums, Pumping Out Basements, Suctioning Water From Rivers or Streams, Transferring Water to an RV, Pumping Out Stock Tanks or other Liquid Transfer Applications. The built-in pressure switch turns the pump on-and-off automatically. If you install a valve, or hose on the outlet side, when you open the valve the pump automatically turns on. When you close the valve the pump will automatically turn off. This is a diaphragm pump, which makes it superior to an impeller pump because there is no impeller to wear out or fail. Also this greatly improves the pumps ability to reach higher pressure levels. This pump is Self-Priming, run-dry safe, and has very quiet operation and low power draw. The inlet and outlet ports are 1/2 in. threaded male fittings. The pump also comes with an intake strainer, and two 1/2 in. barbed fittings. This pump has a built-in check valve which prevents backflow and allows for city water connection if being used in an RV water supply application. This pump is NOT submersible. Intermittent duty. It comes with a 4-Year Warranty.

AnswersIf you’re talking about pushing the water that has gone through the pump, it can easily do it. But if you’re talking about on the suction side, I don’t think so, but you might want to contact the manufacturer.
Can bleach be ran through this?

AnswersBleach water should be fine but if you are talking about pure bleach, only temporarily and then run water through the pump to clean it out. I would not let it sit in there for more than an hour.

AnswersHello Scott. This is not a rechargeable pump. It needs a hardwired 12v that can handle connection a 20 amp load.

AnswerThe 5.5 gpm pump will more than likely encounter a cycling issue during operation as there would be a 1.5 gpm pressure side restriction. I would look at the 42 series. You will be a gallon per minute shy but I dont think that will be an issue as you will be delivering 3 gpm volume at pressure without cycling issues.

I have to write a review on this pump after I am initiating my second return. I thought the first one was a fluke. The first pump had an on/off pressure set pretty high and the pump never turned off. The more recent one does not come on automatically until the pressure is very low and now after a few days of operation it does not want to shut off either, just run down the battery bank. It is important to note that I verified with the manufacturer that the 55 series pump does not have and adjustable pressure switch as it is sometimes advertised to have.
