Let me know if you were able to get your hands on a 1/4 keg of these. The unit prices is pretty expensive for these, and I use them for pretty much everything interior.

Use for gable end retrofits to meet hurricane wind loads. Code requires that I use a bleep-load of 'em. Best screw I ever used, plus they're made in the USA.

Junk screw
Home depot should be embarrassed, this screw is junk. I was wondering why there was so many open boxes in the store now I know that is why many consumers have returned them. The head t-20 is too small, should be t-25 and it's of poor quality, the screw weak, it striped in the first screw. The point is not sharp. Stay away. Spax appears to make some good screws, but these are junk. Bought them in Turlock, California.

I have used the Spax and Deckmate brands and by far the Deckmate are the best. Why... Simply the star drive on the Deckmate is larger T25 versus T20 on the Spax. Doesn't sound like a big difference but just use both and you will be sold. I have striped out bits and the heads on the Spax but this will not happend on the T25 Deckmat. I took the time to review to save someone a little frustration. Overall the Spax are okay but why use something okay when you can have outstanding. Have fun!

I had a good experience with this screw system. I was assembling a frame of treated lumber to pull a plastic sheet over to protect plants from winter cold. The drive system doesn't slip like the conventional Philips head screws, which means both assembly and disassembly can be done reliably, so these will be good on any project you need to be able to take down or move later.
