      A:  The bit size is smaller than every other torx drive screw I have used. So yes, you will need to use the bit inside of the box.

      A:  While a star bit screwdriver will work, they will not have the Plus that is built into SPAX screws. The included bit has a extended recess to accommodate the extrusion on the T-Star+ bit. This feature reduces wobble. Thank you for being a SPAX customer.

        A:  Yes, this screw would work well in this application. Keep in mind the depth of the hole in the masonry needs to be 1" minimum and the hole must be cleaned out well to remove the sheet rock dust and concrete dust.

            A:  Yes. Selecting the proper masonry bit will be a challenge since it will require a small diameter bit. Conveniently Tapcon sells the appropriate bit with their fasteners.

            High grade wood screws
            Over the last 20 years or so, I’ve seen the quality of wood screws go down – even what used to be reliable brands now tend to break and strip; I attribute this to their moving manufacture overseas to countries that process a lot of scrap metal – I really don't think they pay much attention to the alloy over there. So it was welcome relief to try these SPAX screws labeled as made in USA or Germany. They’re said to be "Class 5" strength - maybe they are, because not one broke or stripped during my project, even when driven into moderately hard wood (poplar) without first drilling a pilot hole. And the screws were packaged with a screwdriver bit that fit perfectly. Well done! I just hope the company maintains their quality.
