These self-drilling screws are made of some sort of cheap metal-like material. Most of the heads will strip on a brand new pine board. The only way to prevent stripping the heads is to pre-drill the holes, which triples your build time even if you are using two power drills. I surrendered and drove back to Home Depot to buy fasteners that were meant for wood. I guess they are called self-drilling because you have to drill the holes yourself.

    Horrible screws. Many of the 2 1/2" are bent and wobble when installing. The square drive "option" is not deep enough so square bits don't work. The Phillips slots easily strip out. The zinc coating flakes off when using. I will never buy these again.
