Hello! Thank you for reaching out about the Original SUNHEAT. The USA1500-M has the same best in market original insides as the USA1500-A, however the cabinets are different. The "M" stands for Melamine wood while the "A" stands for solid hardwood Amish built cabinets. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly at 800-652-1916. Sincerely, The SUNHEAT International Team
James, the heater has a 3-Prong plug similar to most other 120v appliances. You simply just plug it into the wall as you would any other home appliance. If you still have questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly and we will gladly answer any questions you may have. 800-652-1916 - Otherwise, we hope you enjoy the made in USA Original SUNHEAT!
Plug it in
Yes you can. It is rated for up to 1000 square feet as supplementary heat. It will take awhile to heat up the area depending on how cold the outside temperature is. Also as soon as the doors are opened you will be starting over in heating area. I assume your garage is insulated, that is the best scenario for the heater to work in. We love our sunheat heater.
Thank you for the question on our made in USA Original SUNHEAT! Yes, of course you can use it in an attached garage. We have sold many thousands and thousands to customers who use it in their garage, however it was not technically made for this kind of use as it works best as a supplementary heater. So, while we do not strongly recommend it on cold winter nights, we have a lot of satisfied consumers who use it in their garage. If you would like to discuss the specifics of your garage and use, please reach out directly and we will be happy to help support your decision one way or the other. 800-652-1916 - Thank you
The thermostat is designed to turn the heater on/off and this heater has 24 oz. of copper which will stay warm and cycle on/off where it is most effective at keeping your area warm--this is the key to the Original SUNHEAT being the best quality and best heat providing infrared heater versus knock off models for almost 20 years. The thermostat itself ranges from 35 degrees to 85 degrees. If the heater is not warming an area up enough, then it may be the area is too large for this supplementary heater to keep it above 65. If the heater does not kick on when you think it should be on the thermostat dial, then the thermostat may need recalibrated. To do this, simply pull off the thermostat cover, pull off the knob, turn it so the line on the knob is facing up and push it back on, then replace the cover. Customer service line for SUNHEAT, should you have questions, is 800-652-1916.
Hello Mike! Thank you for asking about the heating tube. Why change the best? We have not changed our heating tubes... in fact, we have the best spot welded TRUE infrared heat tube with the most nichrome of any infrared heater on the market; always have since the inception of the first Original SUNHEAT infrared heater. If you've never felt the heat of an Original SUNHEAT USA1500, then you don't know what you're missing. There's not a cheap imported model on the market which is as effective. The key is the 24 oz of pure copper which disperses the heat softer and more evenly than copycat models which have no heat sink. Give us a call if you have any questions on how the heater works and we'll be more than happy to help. With over half of all our customers coming from repeat or by way of referral, we proudly stand behind the elements we use and the heater we build right here in the USA.
Yes. it is a new heating tube.
Hello Whyme (becauseurawesome), the amp draw on this heater fluctuates during its heating cycles. When at full peak heating, it pulls 12.6 amps, however this heater is the only infrared heater on the market which maintains the core design and basic heating principles which made our heaters famous nationwide which is the 24 oz of pure copper. You see, the elements heat up the copper and the fan blows air over the copper creating a transitive heating process allowing the water molecules in the air to heat up and in turn, heat up you and the objects in your room. When the Honeywell thermostat tells the Original SUNHEAT to turn off, the copper stays hot for 7-10 minutes while the fan continues to kick out heat. During this cycle, the heater is only pulling less than 0.17 amps. Of course, once the room gets to the temperature you set on the thermostat, the heater will kick off completely, at which time no amp draw is being conducted. We're hopeful this helps explain the amp draw a little clearer rather than just stating 12.6 amps at it's max. Thank you for your question and interest in the only made in the USA infrared heater on the market!
No suncloud uses bulbs. Sunheat uses infrared tubes. Suncloud is larger and heavier.
Hello, Please excuse the long delay in getting back to you. We were not getting these requests sent to us and have only just been helped in getting logged in to review your question. For that, I am sorry as customer satisfaction is priority #1. To answer your question, the made in the USA Original SUNHEAT USA1500-M is actually the best infrared heater on the market and is better than the old Sun Clouds (which we used to distribute in the 80's). If you have a minute to chat, we would be happy to tell you a little more about what makes our heaters much, much better than any other brand currently being sold in the market. Thank you for your time. Have a blessed Holiday Season! - SUNHEAT International 800-652-1916
The Original SUNHEAT has six heating elements which last approximately 40,000 hours each and contain more nichrome than any other element used in any other infrared heater in the world. They sit inside 24 oz. of copper canisters, more than four times the amount of any other heater. The elements heat up the copper and allow for a much softer heat to exit the heater than other heaters which use the same PTC elements as cheaply made and sometimes unsafe space heaters and contain no copper which also helps to save on heating bills by taking 7-10 minutes to cool before the fan turns off. This happens after a room has gotten to the desired temperature set on the thermostat, found inconspicuously on the back of the heater, next to the lifetime washable filter.
