A:  These bulbs are liquid cooled instead of air cooled. It is more efficient and allows the bulb to be used in base up and fully enclosed applications. Also rated for damp locations (bathrooms, outdoor).

    Be wise, SWITCH
Since the federal government has outlawed the common incandescent bulb, we all must find a new source of light. Since I don't want to drink poison in my drinking water (mercury) I have chosen to change out my bulbs with LED units. A friend told me about the Infinia 60W equivalent bulb made by SWITCH. I got some to try and I'm very impressed. I installed 60W incandescent, CFL's and the Infinia's in 3 light fixtures and compared them side by side. As you can see in my photos below, most people can't tell the difference. Incandescent bulbs are a thing of the past, outlawed if you will. The CFL's are filled with toxic poison, have a shorter life span, can't be dimmed and aren't made in the USA. The Infinia makes the most sense to me. They only use 10 watts, last about 20 years, dimmable, and as far as I can tell, are made right here in the USA. Since they don't generate much heat they can be used in almost any fixture, even if the warning label in the fixture says 60W max. The SWITCH bulbs were more expense but my local utility is offering 50% rebates on LED bulbs so now this bulb is in the same price range as a CFL. Folks, buy smart, don't fill our landfills with mercury and poison our drinking water. Buy LED's

Best LED bulb on the market today
I have purchased these LED light bulbs for my new house and installed them in the kitchen, living room, bathroom and even for the light fixtures outside the house. They are dimmable and render a warm light in the living room. They are better than incandescent light bulbs or other LED bulbs out there in that they are lifetime guaranteed, not toxic like CFL's (I am always concerned with my kids getting near CFL lamps due to the mercury content). A nice feature also is that the bulbs always stay cool to the touch and are unbreakable when you drop them which is unheard of. Overall, I am a fan of these LED bulbs and am proud to have energy efficient lighting at my house, feels like doing my share for the environment!!!!

      Outstanding light bulb
Our new Switch light bulb works beautifully, the way it is supposed to. Once upon a time light bulbs were throw-away items, like my printer. Then came CFLs and you have to be really careful about throwing them away, a problem made worse by the poor quality of many CFLs. But this Switch bulb has a 10-year warranty and is projected to last over 20 years! It's a keeper!

        So far, So Good...
I went out of my way to locate retailers of Switch brand LED lighting after enjoying great customer service online prior to my purchase. Home Depot very pleasantly ordered it and it arrived quickly. This bulb is now situated in a hard-to-access outdoor fixture in our front entryway. I also wanted the most bug-resistant alternative I could find. If this bulb burns anywhere near the advertised 25,000 hrs, I believe, and does not draw bugs, I will be delighted.

        Excellent bulb
Using this in outside front door light fixture, base up. Much better than the CFL I was using as no warm-up, instantly full light (of course). Would like to have these available in higher K, like 4000 to 5000. It is heavy, which I knew when I bought it, but that's not an issue for this application. Use in enclosed fixture and base up were the important specs.

        Too yellow for me
The bulb is nice and bright, but out off all my other LED bulbs that are listed as 2700K, this bulb is very yellow compared to my other bulbs. Did not work well either with my light dimmers where my other LED bulbs do work with out any problems. So, too yellow and does not work with dimmers too well.

Best LED bulb I have seen so far
If LED bulbs really last as long as everyone is saying then this is the bulb you really want to live with for the next decade. The design is clean and the light quality is excellent. I also noticed it is practically indestructible. I dropped it on the floor from several feet -- it simply bounced and was fine.

Excellent light, may need to replace dimmer if an older unit
I have used both the Switch Infinia 60W sold by Home Depot as well as the older model Switch60. I used both types of bulbs in the same dimmer circuit that controls 4 bulbs. The Switch60 was a whiter light and worked without difficulty with my 20 year old Lutron slide dimmer. The Switch Infinia has a warmer yellow light at full brightness but flickered, requiring me to replace the dimmer with a new Lutron slide dimmer designed for LEDs and CFLs.

        Awesome
I originally purchased four Cree bulbs however they buzzed. I ordered these online and they work beautifully.

        Switch now....
I love the new SWITCH infinia LED bulbs (frosted glass ) . In my studio task lamp, the infinia is a superior light source. I can see colors and texture more easily and have less eye strain when I work on small, intricate pieces. I can now take my task lamps with me when I take or teach classes because the LED bulbs don’t break. It’s a great solution.”
